04.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE Due to the number of participants and spectators that we have at our matches, Tennis Geelong will follow the lead of Tennis Australia and suspe...nd all matches indefinitely (see attached). The information from TA was provided at midnight, so we are still working through what this means for finals, but we will provide more information once we have had further discussions with our governing body. We apologise for the short notice and the disruption, however, we have an obligation to our players and those that support our sport, and we believe we are acting in their best interest. 03.01.2022 JUNIOR FINALS WEATHER UPDATE- With all sections playing finals tomorrow, we thought it was a great opportunity to remind everyone of the TG rules in regard to w...et weather in finals. Please look at the TG website: https://www.tennis.com.au//fil/2017/02/Bylawscons-2016.pdf . If wet weather does come into play tomorrow, rules 4.11.7, 4.11.8 and 4.11.9 will be applicable. Just a reminder if Tennis Geelong does not cancel all matches, you need to complete all of your matches. Allocated umpires on duty are the ones to make the decision if play is possible. Safety of the children is paramount at all times. You might find that courts need to be swept to remove water between rain showers. If it is not possible to safely complete all sets tomorrow, both playing teams will need to organize a mutually agreeable time BEFORE Tuesday 22nd Aug at 6pm to complete any remaining sets (please refer rule 4.11.9).
