22.01.2022 I havent been posting much to my feed lately, and basically its because I have no idea what to share or what to say. I dont want to be all doom and gloom about Covid. It has affected us all in more ways than we could have ever imagined. And quite frankly, it sucks. But who wants to see me whinging about it?!? And then on the other hand, I dont want to be too positive and upbeat as there are still so many going through tough times and there are still so many uncerta...inties. So that leaves me in this strange middle ground which is somewhat boring and monotonous. Which I actually feel is a pretty accurate reflection of our current lives. So .... 21.01.2022 The little lady and I are going on a ROAD TRIP! We are heading down to Norfolk for 2 nights to visit family. It will be the first time I have seen them since my grandad passed away in March, so I can foresee I am going to be a little bit emotional. However I really wanted to visit before any more restrictions come into effect. On a lighter note, it will be nice to leave York for the first time in over 6 months. But also, what do I pack?!? 20.01.2022 So tell me, did you invest in a summer wardrobe this year? I bought a couple of bits, and a few dresses. But they are dresses that are transitional between seasons with the help of layering. Given that I feel like we havent had a summer this year, Im pretty glad I didnt shop up a storm at the start of lockdown! However I have to say, @figleavesofficial have been delivering the goods when it comes to gorgeous summer attire this season. 20.01.2022 #ad | Lets talk hyperpigmentation. I mentioned this in my posts a couple of times last week and there were some questions about what exactly it is. Hyperpigmentation is a common, usually harmless condition in which patches of skin become darker in color than the normal surrounding skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. ... My hyperpigmentation is as a result of a combination of: Teen acne Sun damage Pregnancy hormones Followoing my initial skin consultation with @drmafaldaqueiroz_face at @blossomdentalcare I now have a strict skin care regime to follow morning and night. Ive been following a skin care routine since my early teens so its not that much of an adjustment for me. I was gifted the following @alumiermduk products from @blossomdentalcare to use. All the products are medical grade and require a prescription. Gel Cleanser Bright & Clear Solution (toner) Antioxidant Facial Serum Brightening Serum Eye Cream Sun Cream Retinol Resurfacing Serum This at home treatment plan will be coupled with a professional peel once the clinic is able to offer them. Covid-19 restrictions do not currently permit such treatments. However, we should be able to see results from the at home products in 1-2 weeks. This is something that has bothered me for years and even more so post pregnancy. But to be honest I didnt realize it was something you could effectively treat. I had tried one or two drug store products in the past and saw little to no difference. I will be writing a full blog post with further details, my experience with the treatment and my results. 18.01.2022 Happy Tuesday Everyone! Tuesday marks the start of my working week as Mackenzie is at nursery for a few days. This gives me the time I need to focus on Wander & Luxe. So, what does that involve? Writing posts, taking photos, liaising with brands and plenty of behind the scenes admin. Its very different to my mining role back in Perth. However, business is still business and many of the same principals still apply. The BBC were reporting on how the University of Leeds has found that watching videos of cute animals can reduce levels of stress and anxiety. I took this picture of a quokka when we were on Rottnest Island last December. They have been dubbed the happiest animals on earth with their cute smiles and love of a selfie. 10.01.2022 Time to jump back on the grid after a hiatus to play nurse to my little patient. If you didn’t see on my stories, Mackenzie came down with chicken pox late last week and was really unwell with it over the weekend. Which in turn took all my attention and energy. Thankfully she is on the road to recovery now and is getting back to her normal happy self. Talking with my Aussie friends we all had the same memories from chicken pox as kids - hours spent sitting in a bath of pine...tarsol I bet you can still smell it now! What’s your memory of chicken pox?

Whilst I wish I was currently sunning myself on this beach in the south of France, Im safe in my home away from home in York, UK. ... My husband and I have been living the expat life here for 3.5 years. We are originally from Perth, Western Australia and moved here when I was 5 months pregnant. My daughter was born in York and I like to refer to her as a proper Yorkshire Lass But she is a true Aussie at heart. We love to travel so Covid has put somewhat of a dampener on our plans for 2020. You will often find me with a coffee or champagne in one hand, and one of my beloved designer handbags in the other. We have two beagles who we flew over from Australia - Bailey & Nellie. 10.01.2022 How was everyones weekend? Ive been meaning to post something for well over a week, but life keeps getting in the way. And heaven forbid I post at a time which isnt algorithm friendly. We had a nice chilled weekend which is what we all need at the moment. Life is pretty hectic even if nothing too exciting is happening. Mackenzie started pre-school. The builders are still trying to fix our bathroom. We cant seem to clear up the dogs ear infection. And in between that Im busy blogging. We have started toying with the idea of a holiday though as we are all desperate for some sunshine and R&R ... so watch this space

09.01.2022 S T A Y C A T I O N Its the buzzword for summer holidays in 2020. And I think if we manage to have any type of holiday in the near future, it will mostly likely be a staycation. We have barely travelled or explored the UK since relocating here 3.5 years. So exploring what is right on our doorstep is not a bad thing! Please give me your suggestions of places we must visit in England - I would love to know all the insider tips of excellent places to explore.

09.01.2022 One thing I have missed most about travelling is FOOD! I love trying local foods whenever we are away and I often try to book a walking food tour to take advantage of the local knowledge and tips. In Barcelona a few years ago I took part in a walking chocolate tour in the Gothic Quarter. Whilst I fancied the wine and tapas tours, I was pregnant at the time so couldn’t partake. As part of the tour I joined, they took us through the La Boqueria Markets which are a famous food... market in Barcelona. Filled with everything from vibrant fruits to local meats and cheeses - it was a sight to behold! Sitting down to enjoy authentic churros was also a highlight. #SpainWays Do you also enjoy trying new foods when travelling? @ Barcelona, Spain

09.01.2022 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas It’s just one month to go until the big day!! How is everyone’s shopping and preparations coming along? I don’t think I would normally start getting ready this early ... but you know, Covid!... We have drafted our Christmas menu and made a start on the shopping. The tree isn’t up yet ... but that’s because we don’t have one And I’m still trying to decide if a real or fake one would be easier. If you are in the UK, how are you feeling about the ‘5 days of Christmas’ rules? It makes no difference to us as our family is on the other side of the world ... but if they were here, we wouldn’t be able to fairly narrow it down to 3 households anyway. I feel like it could be making things very stressful for some families.
