25.01.2022 Have you seen our seriously fine selection of orange wines yet? No? Well we're open from 4pm today, so get your bootie down here and have a taste.

25.01.2022 I don't know about you but I (El) could really go a cocktail... 'tis the season right? I'm going for one of our native negronis, maybe you should try one of our fancy martinis... see you soon.

25.01.2022 Wondering how good the goods from the Urban Produce Market can look on a plate? Heres the activated charcoal sourdough from Ten Acres, eggs from Echovalleyfarm, parsley from Thai-Hoa Asian Grocery and couple of toppings to boot. Plate from Brush and Wheel - theyre just so good!

24.01.2022 Guess what were going to have at the Urban Produce Market this week?! A butt tonne of good from Sovereign Foods which means grain, pulses and dry goods galore. We cant wait to sink our teeth into these - thank Thor!

24.01.2022 This tempting little number is a cinnamon and caramel scroll from Ten Acres. If this isnt the perfect sneaky little treat for a Saturday morning at the Urban Produce Market, then I dont know what is.

24.01.2022 We hope youre all enjoying your fresh produce from the market yesterday like Chai here enjoying the Calendulas from Middle St Farm (Ange and Billys haven in West End).

23.01.2022 Dinner tonight anyone?

23.01.2022 #urbanproducemarket Every Saturday | 7am - 1pm

21.01.2022 In need of some breakfast? We've got you covered...charcoal croissant filled with ham, tomato, behamel and fresh green. You're welcome!

21.01.2022 Beer Bread! Yup you heard me correctly. This is a deliciously grainy sourdough by Ten Acres that is made with the nutritious excess grains from the beer brewing process. The grains for this batch came from our friends over at Brouhaha Brewery. Find this here on Saturday at our Urban Produce Market open from 7am - 1pm.

20.01.2022 Just a reminder that we're on holidays until January 6th. We're following little Biscuits lead and getting in some much needed chillaxing. See you in the new year folks!

19.01.2022 Looking for a spot to hang with your mates where the 10 person rule wont get ya? Come here! We can host groups up to 30 people but you gotta be ok with the no standing if eating or drinking - so no waltzing and mingling with drink in hand. Pop it down and then youre away. Book here - https://www.obee.com.au/wanderingcooks/

19.01.2022 This is El, shes just made herself an aeropress at home. "But where did she get those delicious beans from?" I hear you say. Us! Yup thats right, weve got the coffee goods from Small Batch - Roastery & Cellar Door so you can get your brewing on at home and look as smug as El.

18.01.2022 New shrub in the bar! - Ruby Grapefruit and Sage, with a bit of salt, tasting Kind-a Like-a Margarita! with or without chilli pepper vodka, it is definitely the best new way to get those electrolytes back into your body.

18.01.2022 The dehydrator is running full bore at the moment. The bar is aiming to get some great seasonal produce dried and stocked up for the season ahead so we can keep garnishing your drinks with a little treat for ya!

18.01.2022 The suns rising over Fish Lane, and dang these Spring mornings are feeling delightful. If you thought your morning couldnt get anymore delightful, think again... were pouring some mighty fine batch brew from Small Batch - Roastery & Cellar Door. Today were featuring Benajmin Lopez Filter... wait till you taste this baby! Macadamia, stewed apple, white chocolate.

17.01.2022 It's Wednesday, the bar is open, and Sarah's indulging in the brand spankin' new wheat whisky from Whipper Snapper Distillery. They've sourced the wheat from the local Armstrong and Blight farms, they've waited patiently whilst it's aged for 4 years in virgin american white oak barrels, and now we get to reap the benefits of this vanilla, maple syrup and caramel whisky sensation. Bloody well done fellas!

17.01.2022 Ash and Kitty were ahead of their time - youll see the BBQ back out this week at the Comptoir (fancy name for counter because hot food doesnt mesh well we thought). Back in 2015 - 2016 you might remember our Makers Market day - we tried to pull off a weekly night market with our friends from Sovereign Foods, Dannys Bread and talks from the likes of Bee One Third - Neighbourhood Honey, Picklehead Pickles and Megabake. Sure it didnt last but we gave it a go. Come by on Saturday to enjoy our Urban Produce Market - this one will be sticking around a little longer!

17.01.2022 Look at those golden layers of buttery goodness! Available straight up or with a delicious filling... drop by the Urban Produce Market this morning between 7am and 1pm to get one of these in your belly.

17.01.2022 What do you do with all those beautiful tomatoes when theyre in abundance - especially from One Little Farm - flowers and produce? You could be predictable and make sauce or relish BUT you could also fill your jars to the brim with Olive Oil, add herbs and garlic, pop your lid on and cook them at 100C for about 4 hours. Theyll keep in the oil and are the perfect addition to a savoury platter, adding to a simple pasta with oodles of parmesan, floating on a bowl of ragut, or simply popping them in a salad. The gorgeous thing about this method too, is all that deliciously flavoured oil.

16.01.2022 Louie is pretty excited about having Passport Specialty Coffee coffee as our Batch Brew Filter today... not only that, but she's scored herself a ceramic cup from Commons to drink it out of. Both are available in our Pantry for you to have at home too... that really is pretty exciting!

16.01.2022 We are having some much needed time off. Relaxing to us means spending time in the garden, or at least to Ange’s it’s watching Billy spend time in the garden. Beautiful work Billy. Ange and Billy will be back on the 6th of jan, very well rested.

14.01.2022 When there are leftover flowers from Woggoon, we start the drying process for you. Snap some up if youre lucky at the Urban Produce Market this Saturday.

14.01.2022 Did you snag some delicious Oca yams from the Urban Produce Market yesterday? You dont see them around here often but Ash (me, the voice who usually talks to you for now) loves them. I love them because my childhood in NZ revolved around them. Best roasted, they go a little translucent and taste slightly sweet, slightly nutty kinda like me! If you did get some, enjoy them and think of a little kiwi girl smiling while eating them who felt like she won the lottery every time.

14.01.2022 Every now and then you reflect. This photo makes me think of what our current realness is right now. Open 2 days a week - both nights and a day time market for one. Weve done grander things but never in this way and to think, this time next year we wont be here. Thats hard to think about but my god, it feels exciting. Our journey has never been steady and I think were ready to rock the boat a couple more times. We wouldnt be here without you so strap yourselves in and hold on tight.

14.01.2022 These flowering greens from Mont Vue Farm are a real treat and only around for a fleeting moment in time. Find them at the #urbanproducemarket - heck, heres a recipe from Nancy Singleton Hachisu to get you going. -------------------------------------------------- Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Lower the nanohana stem ends into the water, but do not let go. Cook for 30 seconds, then drop the nanohana into the boiling water and submerge with a woode...n spoon. Cook until the nanohana is pliable but hasnt lost its structural integrity, 2-3 minutes more, depending on thickness. Drain and refresh under cold running water. Drain well and pat dry. Align from the stem ends and squeeze down the length of the nanohana to remove excess water. Stir the soy sauce and sake together. Lay the nanohana in a rectangular pan and pour the sake-soy mixture over it, rolling the pan to coat the greens evenly. Lifting them by the stem ends, remove the greens from the pan, shake excess liquids back into the pan, and cut crosswise into 3/4 inch (2cm) pieces. Align those pieces attractively in a shallow bowl, keeping the cut clumps together. Swirl the sake-soy mixture from the pan over the greens and garnish with the katsuobushi. Serve immediately.

13.01.2022 Who else is enjoying their Golfball carrots from The Falls Farm #urbanproducemarket

11.01.2022 Dont miss our Pantry cocktail this week - made with either Native Plum Jam or Pickled Rhubarb. Depending on what weve got in the pantry of course!

11.01.2022 And to complete our tomato adventure today, I will enjoy my Neighbourhood Farm Oxheart dressed in homegrown ginger, Urban Produce spring onion, coriander and dill served on Brush and Wheel ceramic joy. Brisbane on a plate is looking and tasting mighty fine.

11.01.2022 Shopping amongst the greenery at the Urban Produce Market is always special. It gives you time mooch, ponder and dream up your week ahead. Mooching time at the market is every Saturday - 7am - 1pm.

10.01.2022 El's behind the bar tonight serving up these bad boys... drop in and get her to shake you up one of her signature coffee martinis.

10.01.2022 Know your farmer. #urbanproducemarket

10.01.2022 This is Angela, shes patiently waiting for her MoccaMaster to finish brewing her delicious batch brew using the beans she bought at last weeks Urban Produce Market. "What, you have beans for sale?!" I hear you say. Thats right, we do indeed have a very fine selection of beans on offer from Small Batch - Roastery & Cellar Door and Reuben Hills. Be like Angela, and set yourself up for the week with ahead with some beans for home.

09.01.2022 Char grilled greens star in our green salsa accompanied by totopos and Tommerups Dairy Farm crme fraiche. Hot dang they look good!

08.01.2022 Now this is something to be excited about - Ange is in the kitchen. To me it feels like a home coming, the closing of a circle almost. Ange started this business because she was looking for a commercial kitchen to start her very own preserving business but there werent many options to choose from so she thought, buggar it all, Ill create a space. And she has but now she makes room for her and we all feel pretty lucky to see it and taste it. Come along this weekend (Friday 4-9pm and Saturday 7am - 10pm) to see the magic happen.

08.01.2022 Theres something about a farmer walking out to his crop that brings some excitement to our day. Anwyn Howarth captured Neighbourhood Farm so beautifully - we cant wait to show you more.

08.01.2022 Each week El works her way through the Farmgate and picks a selection of fruit and veg, so she can make you one super delicious fresh juice for your Urban Produce Market Day wandering. Hit up the cafe on Saturday from 7am for your refreshing start to the day.

07.01.2022 When the Shiso from Farmer Duc (Thai Hoa Grocer) is reaching for the sky, you know its going to be a good day here at the Urban Produce Market. Bring on the day!

06.01.2022 Nothing like Neighbourhood Farm fennel mermaid hair. Lou knows how to rock it at the #urbanproducemarket

05.01.2022 Holy smokes. Gang. Neighbourhood Farm are currently growing Oxheart tomatoes in their crop and were selling them at our Urban Produce Market. I was lucky enough to nab one yesterday and it blew my mind. The taste is so fresh, and it feels weird to say that I felt held while I was eating it but its true. Who else got one out there?

05.01.2022 This is Billy, shes just made herself a filter coffee using her V60 at home."But where did she get those delicious beans from?" I hear you ask. Billy picked them up from our Urban Produce Market last Saturday. You too could be like Billy, and indulge in some delicious Small Batch - Roastery & Cellar Door all week long from home

05.01.2022 Ange is pumped that she snagged some of the last Oxheart tomatoes! These and the green goods will be on the menu tonight. Open now till 10pm.

05.01.2022 We miss Sunday Hot Club at our venue every Sunday and we reckon you lot do too. If youd like to get your swing on, get on down to see Shenzo at The Sideshow - west end. Pack your dancing shoes and enjoy a beautiful afternoon.

04.01.2022 Do you ever wonder who dreams up the potential of the Farmgate at the Urban Produce Market? Well meet Billy, our Farmgate Manager. Billy contacts multiple farmers each week to source some of the best produce Brisbane has to offer and she certainly delivers every dang week. Billy has a passion for finding farmers who care first and foremost about the land they tend to by ensuring they are giving back to it. You can guarantee that when you wonder through the Farmgate that there is a deeper level of care involved than meets the eye. Feel free to say hi next time you see her and chat. She loves a chat.

02.01.2022 El was so damn excited at the release of this year's Sloe Gin from Dasher + Fisher Gins she felt it was worthy of a coyote ugly style celebration on the bar. It's limited edition folks, and we have three bottles... this baby is beyond delicious.
