08.01.2022 My inbox is doing happy dances with all of your enquiries for 2020/2021. THANK YOU! Most of you have been asking about availability, maternity leave and if you can still book your Weddings in advance, so... LET’S CHAT! WHEN DOES LEAVE COMMENCE? ... Maternity leave starts the 1st of March. This cheeky bub has given us a run for our money, along with a complex pregnancy. I’ve frequented the hospital throughout, so I’m hopeful I’ll be able to press on for another 4 weeks. If you have any concerns about your bookings during this time, please call or text me. CAN I BOOK MY 2021 WEDDING? At this stage, I’m not currently taking on 2021 bookings. A number of you have requested trials regardless, so I’m offering trials until I’m on leave but the conditions are outlined in the T+C’s. Again, if you have any queries regarding this, please reach out. 2020 COMMITMENTS: I have existing Wedding/Event Makeups booked for the 2020 season from October. I will continue to honour my existing bookings and let you know if/when I open my books up sooner. Who knows?! I could get a little stir crazy without you guys. WHEN WILL I BE RETURNING FULL TIME? I’m going to let my heart and my rainbow babe guide me on this one. We spent years, countless tears and a bucket load of money to arrive at this point. I built my biz baby up from nothing and it’s taken a hell of a lot of heart and hustle. This next chapter asks me to slow down + be present for my little man so I can be the best mama I can. I will be returning, I just don’t have a date yet at this early stage Anything is possible. HOW AM I FEELING? Being self-employed makes taking time off impossible because I LOVE what I do! Also... time off = no income... Mostly, I’m scared to lose you... BUT it took a long time to get here so I’m just going to tackle it one step at a time. Baby steps. I’m struggling with my health and it’s a higher risk pregnancy so my priorities are that my clients are taken care of... and of course - that our baby is safe Thank you for love, loyalty and support throughout! NOW is the time to capitalise on getting content for YOUR IG page! Hello all the emojis. So often I receive snaps from beauties that are backlit, shadowed and smudgy And... then I get asked why I didn’t post the pics I was sent It’s not because I don’t love you. Trust me, I DO. ... Here are some tips to help you perfect your new profile pic. #newDPwhodis CLEAN YO LENS Build up of oils, muck and whatever else can make for a hot mess (and not the desirable kind). Take the time to make sure your lens is smudge-free and ready for that close up. LIGHTING IS EVERYTINGGG Make sure the sunlight is ON your face, not behind you. When I take photos of makeup, I make sure there is a SINGLE light source (aka - not receiving light from all angles) to avoid shadows. Sometimes this means closing curtains/ opening the front door in a dark hallway or strategically angling yourself towards the light. That single light source MUST be headed for your face This way, you’ll be channelling a radiant goddess. AVOID DOWNLIGHTING If I’ve done your makeup before, you’ll know I’m obsessed with natural light and will set you up in random parts of your house where the light is I’ll often turn off harsh down-lights as they can cast nasty shadows under the eyes. Everyone freaks out and thinks I can’t see but trust me, I can This way you’ll look amazing from ALL angles and in all variations of lighting as the night progresses. ANGLES Now it’s up to you! Work your angles, open your eyes, look up towards the camera and make some magic. And smile... from your eyes too! People can feel your vibes and that’s where the real beauty exists. With these tips, there’s no need for a filter

02.01.2022 OH MY GOSH Looking forward to my FINAL weekend of painting faces before I venture into mamahood I can’t believe it’s come around so quickly! Sh*t’s about to get real and I’m excited + nervous + still in disbelief. To my clients this weekend, please excuse my preggy swagger and swollen feet Sweatpants is all that fits me right now and I’m totally okay with that. ... I’ll still be contactable via email and phone prior to love cubs arrival, so if you have an event or wedding you’d like to reach out about towards the mid/end of the year, I’ll just be sitting here behind my laptop waiting for your love note. I’ll be able to let you know if I’m available, once I’ve received your enquiry.
