This striking evergreen, displays a rounded, spreading canopy of large thick bilobed leaves that can grow to 10cm x 13cms. The spectacular flowers are large (up to 15 cm), magenta and have a unique butterfly appearance. The effect is stunning - a mass of giant purple butterflies amidst large, vividly green, fluttering double lobed leaves. In late winter the neon pink clusters of buds begin to cover the bare sculptural branches, which burst open in Spring to become intense, magenta clusters of gorgeous pea shaped flowers - the texture and form resembles exotic coral formations.
