20.01.2022 Shepparton Education Plan Our school is helping the Victorian Government develop a long-term plan to transform education in the local area. It aims to give every young person the opportunity to reach their full potential. Community consultation about the future of local secondary education is now open. Workshops will be held this week on Thursday 12 October. You can register here: http://bit.ly/SheppEdEvents... Families are strongly encouraged to be part of the conversation. Local educators have now developed four proposed options for secondary education ranging from no change, through to significant transformational change. These options will be discussed at the workshops. Community feedback will help form the recommendation to Government. Community consultation has been open for three weeks now is your last chance to provide feedback. Please visit the website: www.engage.vic.gov.au/SheppartonEducationPlan to: - learn about the proposed options to change secondary schools - provide feedback and complete the survey - learn about drop-in information sessions - view session times and register to attend the Family and Community workshops

The primary requirement for selection is outstanding achievement from personal effort or initiative, in a field of endeavour. Mere long term service or involvement with an area of pursuit by a Nominee without having satisfied the paramount requirement in clause 2 or demonstrated outstanding achievement arising from personal initiative or innovation, is not sufficient justification for selection. 5. The Selection Committee will consider the degree of difficulty for a nominee to attain the highest level of achievement and the period of time since the nominee last attended WPSC. 6. The Selection Committee will consider in addition to a nominee's individual achievements, that person's integrity and character to ensure their personal qualities fit in with the values of the college. 7. Only in exceptional circumstances will there be more than one person/team annually inducted to each Category of the Hall of Fame. 8. Any person or organisation may make nominations for consideration by the Selection Committee. 9. 04.01.2022 WANGANUI PARK S.C. HALL OF FAME WHO WILL BE NEXT? The Wanganui Park Secondary College Hall of Fame was initiated in 2008 to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of individuals who have previously been associated with the school. Since that time, fourteen high achieving ex-students have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Each one has gone on to succeed in their chosen area of expertise, including the Arts, Academic Fields, Sport and Community Service. In 2015, the pa...st students inducted were Deanne Thompson (Academic), Claire Sterling (Arts) and Shannon Byrnes (Sport). Previous inductees were: 2008: Sharon Orrman-Rossiter, Brett Lancaster, Adam Thompson, Gino Somers 2009: Nicole Buck (Pettigrew), Wilfred Poole, Wade Bennett 2011: Peter Gibbs, Matthew Gardiner 2013: Wendy Lovell, Meg Sterling Students at the school walk past the photographs and stories of previous Hall of Fame inductees each time they enter the front school entrance. The students photographed were asked what the Hall of Fame meant to them. Brenton and Jansyn replied These images and words provide us with local people that we can look to for inspiration. Aidan and Claire commented The photos provide motivation to strive to reach your goals and aspirations, never giving up on your dreams. Tash thought that the images are a reminder that people from public country schools can do great things. Hafza noted the variety of expertise on display, stating There are great sporting achievements, success as doctors, musicians and those that have given back to the community. This inspires me to achieve my best. The school inducts ex-students on a biennial basis, and 2017 marks the time to once again call for nominations. Nomination forms and the guidelines for the Selection Criteria are available from the College, and information can be provided to you by phoning Ken Murray on 58209900 or emailing [email protected] Wanganui Park students look on in admiration at the photos and achievements of previous Hall of Fame inductees.
