20.01.2022 Welcome to tonights broadcast direct from the Wangaratta Performing Arts & Convention to you at home. This Steinway on Stage at Home performance is proudly brought to you by WPACC in partnership with the Wangaratta Arts Council Tonight you will enjoy the musical talents of local pianist Talia McLaurin. Each Spring the Steinway on Stage program features senior students from local secondary schools who are preparing for final year practical music assessments. Talia is in Year 1...2 at Galen and is completing the VCE Music Performance program in classical solo piano. Talia has been playing piano for 12 years under the guidance of her teacher Helen Kenney. Last year Talia completed Grade 8 AMEB with a high distinction and enjoys playing music from the romantic era because of its expressive qualities. Tonight Talia’s will play her performance exam repertoire including classical, romantic and 20th century works by composers Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven, Gershwin, Debussy, Poulenc and Mendelssohn. 18.01.2022 John Bell Scholarship is a life-changing opportunity for budding performers from regional areas. Three students will be selected to spend one incredible week training with Bell Shakespeare. Due to current circumstances, all 2020 auditions will be facilitated online via live sessions with Bell Shakespeare Teaching Artists on Zoom. Auditions will include a 15-minute masterclass with a Bell Shakespeare artist, presenting a monologue, then workshopping and playing with the text.
