21.01.2022 Another wonderful Big River regatta weekend. 14 OKs, fantastic hospitality and some great racing. Our own Mark Skelton won the regatta with 4 bullets and 2 seconds (dropped a 2nd place). The rest of us were left to squabble over the state of origin result which came down to the final 2 races and eventually went to NSW. Well done Big River SC for putting on another magic weekend. We all are looking forward to next year already.

15.01.2022 Hi All. In lieu of BIG RIVER being cancelled this weekend WE ARE HOLDING RACING AT WANGI ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. Tim has offered up some rum bottles for prizes and we will run it as an "unofficial " regatta. Sandra is happy to start us on Saturday with an alternative starting method Sunday. ... ALL SAILORS WELCOME on one or both days. No official notice of race - Briefing 1pm Saturday Start. 2pm Saturday Sausage sizzle and xxxx after racing on Saturday. A donation of $20 per boat would be appreciated to cover any costs to the club. It looks like we will possibly have 2 Qld boats visiting. Cheers Gareth Please text me if you are interested

10.01.2022 Sailing season has started all you OK dinghy sailors. Wash the dust and cobwebs off your boat. Come down and take on our own Tim Davies, the current Queensland State champion!

08.01.2022 Another great day sailing today at the Big River (temporary) replacement regatta. A reduced fleet as some who had travelled made their journeys home. A cold, gusty south to south-west breeze met the remaining sailors as the course was set in a more convenient location just off the clubhouse. Lots of very close racing, with the constantly shifting breeze meaning most had a shot at the lead at some stage or other. 5 races sailed. Not sure of all the placings as we had no offical finisher, but needless to say, we all enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to another big turnout next year at the real Big River to christen their new clubhouse and resume the tradition.

06.01.2022 The annual Big River single hander regatta was planned for this weekend, but unfortunately has been cancelled due to possible flooding. To appease needs of those who had planned to go, we have put together a pretty casual, low key substitute - like all good things hatched in the bar after sailing last week. The racing yesterday was great fun, with 11 OKs sailing short courses in a 10-15kt north easterly breeze which never really settled, providing plenty of challenge. A s...ausage sandwich or 2 were enjoyed after racing as we took shelter from a pretty spectacular storm. Results attached. More racing today. P.S. many thanks to Sandra for excellent race management (as usual), and also for the guys who have travelled to come sailing.
