15.01.2022 Hi Everyone, we just wanted to thank you all for your generous support in these trying times. We are surviving well with great staff and promised government assistance and your continued support. All our staff are being kept on for the same hours and salary, it is business as usual and we really appreciate your observance of the social distancing rules and isolation.... Some of our gifts and clothes have been difficult to source, but all the important things like newspapers, cigs and Lotto are available as normal. Home deliveries are continuing and growing. If you want to avoid going out, keep in mind that we can sell advance tickets for up to 10 weeks ahead very easily and home delivery for newspapers is always available. Purchases (except Lotto) can be made on account and settled in person or via direct transfer to bank. We are all looking forward to coming out of this challenge happy and healthy as soon as possible. Sorry for the long post, but thanks again for your support of our local business!

We ARE still open, we WILL have papers and we are taking all the recommended precautions against the virus. All surfaces in the shop are being regularly sanitised, our staff are using hand sanitiser often and we are encouraging our customers to observe "social distancing" while in the shop.... If you prefer not to enter the shop, we can serve you outside if you wish, we will do our best to help you as best we can!

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, we are pleased to say that as an essential service, we are staying open throughout this difficult period. We will be taking all personal precautions against infection and we will be continuously cleaning our shop with sanitiser and also cleaning our hands regularly throughout the day. As far as we are concerned, if papers are printed, we are open normal hours.... We appreciate your support for our small business and we encourage you to support us and other local businesses who no doubt will be taking the same precautions. We encourage EFTPOS if you are concerned about money handling and we are happy to conduct our interactions at a safe distance. If you want to linger outside the shop and come in one or two at a time that might help, but exposure to other people for a few minutes has not been notified as a danger, especially if social distance is observed. If any of you have particular needs or concerns that we can help with, please do not hesitate to bring them to us. We hope that this situation can be resolved as soon as possible and we wish all our community good health and good tidings.

04.01.2022 Sorry to say that Fairfax Papers have been delayed today due to power failure and serious truck accident on highway. If you have not had a delivery you will not be billed of course. There will be no home delivery today of those papers (Newcastle Herald, Sydney Morning Herald, Financial Review). The papers have just arrived at shop, so if you are able to come to the shop you can buy one over the counter or put one on your account.... Sorry for the inconvenience.

03.01.2022 So Close! We got 5 out of 6 numbers in one of our local syndicates on Saturday... Paid $111 per share, but if we had managed to have just the 1 instead of 24 we would be looking at $272,000 per share! Even if we had hit a supplementary it would have been getting $9000 each, what a shame.
