23.01.2022 THIS IS IT AUSTRALIAN ANIMATORS! We have been asked by a number of people if it's still possible to register in the 3|Thirty Animation Competition. The answer is yes, but the clock is ticking. That times ends at the end of today. You have until October 31st to register your entry. You have until November 30th to complete your entry. ... Register now and get going on your thirty-second animation short. The shorts can use any form of animation (2D, 3D, stop-motion, etc.) and must include the 3| Thirty ID - which means some form of the idea, word or image of "key". The competition has three categories for entrants: School (Years 7-12), Tertiary (TAFE and University students), Open (Animation Professionals and Hobbyists). Animation shorts will be judged by a panel (scored 1-10) with highest average score declared winner. All animation shorts will be screened and prizes awarded at the 3|Thirty Awards Night. Entry/Ticket is $20. 16.01.2022 Meet another of our 3|Thirty Judges. Joe Brumm worked as an animator for 10 years in London on numerous children’s series, including the Bafta winning Charlie and Lola. After returning to Australia he founded Studiojoho which boasts a body of innovative, engaging short films and videos. His most high profile work is with Ludo Studio as creator of the animated TV series BLUEY. The show is about a anthropomorphic six-year-old Bluer Heeler puppy and her life with her Brisbane Heeler family. The series is co-commissioned by Australian Broadcasting Corporation and the British Broadcasting Corporation and has been sold internationally. Bluey is popular with its preschool audience, their parents and their grandparents.

12.01.2022 ANNOUNCING the 3RD JUDGE! WAnimate presents to you the third judge for the 3|Thirty Animation CompetitionMatt Everitt. Matt has over 25 years experience in the animation industry. Beginning as a 2-D animator for TV before learning CG to work in games in the 1990’s, then moving into commercials, creating content for brands such as Nestle, KIA, Vodafone and Madonna’s spectacular Grammy live show with animated band Gorillaz. From commercials he moved to animated features and n...ow VFX, for which his credits include: The Tale of Despereaux Happy Feet 2 The LEGO Movies Walking With Dinosaurs Outlaw king Skyscraper Dora and The Lost City of Gold Cats Matt currently works as Animation Supervisor for MrX Adelaide, also acts as executive producer for the animated features The Wishmas Tree and Combat Wombat and has several movie titles in development.
