07.01.2022 Because if the flood of patients coming out of Residential Aged Care, the GEM ward became a COVID Ward virtually overnight. We’ve had 53 COVID positive patients through the ward and discharged the last patient last week. Jimmy is one of the dedicated Occupational Therapists we’re celebrating this week for Occupational Therapy Week. Most of the patients weren’t acutely unwell from COVID-19 so within a few days, we could start working on underlying issues while they recovered. This was really a great opportunity to improve the quality of life for the patients who otherwise may never have had this kind of care in an aged care facility.
