25.01.2022 The Physical Education program at Wantirna primary school values skill development, team work and participation. Students have fun engaging in a variety of sports both during PE lessons and when competing in Inter-school competitions.

One activity we did was a character suitcase challenge The students had to think of a character or story, and without using names, words of faces, they had to draw what you might find in their suitcase. 20.01.2022 On Monday, the Foundation students celebrated 100 days of school! An extra special achievement in a year of both traditional school and remote learning! We are so very proud of the resilience, enthusiasm and dedication to their learning that our Foundies have displayed this year. The students had a dress up theme of 'When I am 100 years old I will look like...' and to share an item of 100 pieces - smarties, buttons, rice, hundreds and thousands and more. Congratulations!

17.01.2022 For our chemical science this week, 56F investigated the properties of Non-Newtonian fluids by making Oobleck! We learnt about how it has both liquid and solid properties and that its viscosity is dependent on the amount of external pressure put on it.

17.01.2022 As part of our history unit of Inquiry, the F-2 students worked in groups to investigate transport, clothing, education, toys and technology and how they have changed over time. They presented their findings to the cohort in many different and informative ways. Well done everyone!

14.01.2022 Today the buddies were reunited for a Lego building challenge. Our Foundies and Year 5s worked together to roll a dice 10 times and collect that many pieces of Lego - then build a masterpiece. All with a time limit! The students displayed creativity, problem solving, excellent communication and teamwork.

10.01.2022 Today the F-2 students took a step back in time into the Olden Days. Children wore authentic clothes to match the period; short pants, braces and caps, to dresses, lace and ribbons. They visited a mini museum in the gym that gave them a glimpse into the old versus the new. Items included a kerosene lantern, a record player, a typewriter, a 1910 dictaphone, old cameras, toys, phones and much more! The students took what they saw and heard and applied it to their Inquiry show after lunch. It was a great day and we are sure that the children came home with lots of memories.
