You can help by: Giving them plenty of space and staying out of the turtle’s line o...f sight Keeping dogs away The third and fourth photos show turtles stuck in the rocks requiring some help from trained professionals with specialised equipment to get them back to the water. 03.01.2022 Fairy Tern (Sternula nereis nereis) have been observed nesting along the Ningaloo Coast and Exmouth Gulf beaches. Fairy terns are listed as vulnerable under the EPBC Act. Their main threat is human disturbance, particularly at breeding sites. They nest in a shallow sand scrape between the high-water mark and the dunes. The eggs and chicks are well camouflaged making them vulnerable to being crushed from vehicles and pedestrians. The below signs have been temporarily installe...d at identified breeding sites. Please adhere to the signs, keep your distance and give the eggs and chicks the best chance to survive. Photo: Fairy Tern. Credit Grant Griffin
