23.01.2022 Hi Everyone! Raven’s Recruitment have just launched a new and innovative Career Podcast, specifically for Pharmacists, called the "Your Pharmacy Career" Podcast. The Podcast will fortnightly feature a leader from the Pharmacy profession discussing their career and sharing their experiences and learnings. The speakers come from a wide range of areas within Pharmacy including community, hospital, industry, government and professional organisations.... We feel that Careers Podcast will be particularly relevant for Pharmacy Students as they start to work towards their career goals and begin exploring the numerous career options available to them as Pharmacists. In keeping with the theme of #NAIDOCWeek2020 there is a new episode in the Your Pharmacy Career Podcast with A/Prof Faye McMillan. Associate Professor Faye McMillan is a Wiradjuri yinaa (woman) from Trangie, NSW. In 2001 Faye was the first Indigenous Pharmacist to become a registered pharmacist in Australia. Faye is the 2019 NSW Aboriginal Woman of the year, Senior Atlantic Fellow for Social Equity and a founding member of Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA). Faye works at Charles Sturt University as the Director of the Djirruwang Program - Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health), a program dedicated solely to the education of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander people for the Mental Health Workforce. You can listen to the podcast on our website or via your favourite Podcast app.

17.01.2022 This week around the world we’re celebrating World Immunisation Week! As we have been forced into lockdown, it is a very important and relevant week to raise awareness and encourage people to get their immunisations, so we can protect the ones that can’t protect themselves. With the necessary 14 layover period between administration of flu vaccinations and COVID-19 vaccinations, it’s crucial we receive our flu vaccinations as early as possible so there are no delays for when... the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available. If you weren’t aware, Curtin Health Services is a bulk billing medical centre situated on Campus that has 15 minute flu vaccination appointments available. Qualified nurses will happily fill out serology forms accurately for Pharmacy students to ensure we and our patients are protected for future placements. Booking an appointment is easy and can be done through the Appointuit App available on the App Store or by speaking to one of their friendly staff on 9266 7345, or you can drop in yourself and see them!

A worldwide initiative to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gift of blood and also to raise awareness of the need for regular blood donations. All individuals and communities deserve access to affordable and timely supplies of safe and quality-assured blood and blood products, as an integral part of universal health coverage and a key component of effective health systems. We had a record breaking year of donations throughout the Vampire cup this year, but its vitally important blood and blood products remain available to Australians throughout the entire year.
