Through collaborative farming Waratah Alpaca Fibre can provide alpaca fleece producers with reliable markets for their fibre and maximise producer returns from the sale of this luxurious fleece. 22.01.2022 Myths, Lies and Rumours Myth 1 - At Nationals in Canberra, some Waratah Board members were approached with a rumour that Waratah was going out of business!! NOT TRUE - 5 tonne of fleece went out last month ... a container is leaving next Tuesday a container is leaving next month We have a Superfine/Fine order going to a local designer Overseas buyers are to visit in November and staying on farm for three days (Coloured fibre specialists). They will be shearing, sampling and having a good time! Samples have gone to Italy Reportedly this rumour originated from a competitor in VIctoria Myth 2 - Rumours at Adelaide Royal that Andrew Munn/Scotch Group have bought Waratah Alpaca Fibre Co-Op. Again simply NOT TRUE The only thing slowing Waratah down is getting fleece in from our members.

20.01.2022 Double no, no. Baling twine and a black plastic big for fleece. Baling twine is a problematic hard contaminate in which 1 strand of fibre can ruin an entire shipment. Black bags. What colour is the fibre? and its difficult to write on the bag.... Please no twine and Id you have to use bags clear please.

12.01.2022 I was having a really productive day. So I thought before I check some paddocks Id seeded before the rain, Ill press some fleece. We have a small 250kg colour order, I thought Ill knock it over quickly so it could be shipped next week. Opened my first coloured bale - this gem, heavily contaminate with VM, plastic bags had deteriorated and to top it off baling twine through it. Yuk, yuk and yuk. Waratah does charge for dumping, I salvaged some from these fleeces at best it will cover the cost to dump. Not a swipe at coloured fleece they had white in this also.
