24.01.2022 Meet Dr Emily Gregory-Roberts, a general ophthalmologist, cataract surgeon and glaucoma specialist. She graduated in Medicine from the University of Sydney with honours and completed a Masters degree in the discipline of Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney. Following this, she trained in Ophthalmology at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. Emily then further developed her skills in glaucoma management and complex glaucoma and cataract surgery... working as a clinical fellow at the Oxford Eye Hospital in Oxford, United Kingdom. As part of a desire to provide the best possible patient care, Emily also has an interest in research. She worked as a research fellow in the ophthalmology department at Columbia University in New York and her research has been published in multiple scientific journals, including Ophthalmology and Eye. She has recently joined the team of ophthalmologists at Cataract and Glaucoma Specialists in Hurstville and Miranda (at the same location as Retina and Macula Specialists) and she also consults in Bondi Junction. 04.01.2022 Meet Dr Zoltan Szomor, an experienced orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in hip and knee surgery, including joint replacement, hip and knee primary and revision arthroplasty, and knee reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery. Dr Szomor is one of the first orthopaedic surgeons in Australia to practice the minimally-invasive, tissue-sparing surgical technique for total hip replacementthe SuperPATH. This technique usually leads to a quicker recovery and accelerated rehabilitati...on, while minimising pain. For total knee replacements, he uses one of the most advanced, ceramic-coated knee replacements. Dr Szomor completed his advanced orthopaedic training with the Australian Orthopaedic Association Training Program and was elected to be a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He completed a PhD Degree at the University of New South Wales, performing cutting-edge musculoskeletal research. He also completed an 18-month fellowship at Kyoto University, Japan, focusing on arthroplasty and cartilage research, as well as a fellowship in Sydney in 1997 and 1998.
