09.01.2022 TRY SKILL 18 - YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. Once again this year the Wynyard Camera Club is involved in this Waratah-Wynyard Council intitative. Tryskills is open... to grades 5, 6,and 7 school students from any area to ‘try their skills’ during the first term school holidays at several one hour skill development sessions run by sports clubs and community groups in the municipality who feel that they would like to make known their club and take the opportunity to attract new members from this age group. Wynyard Camera Club have been involved for many years presenting sessions on photography. This will involve three sessions from 11am -12noon on Wed Apr 15, Mon Apr 20 and Wed Apr 22, with a breakup afternoon tea with all Try Skill groups and families and a public vote and prize for a photograph taken in our sessions. This year fifteen activities are being offered:- Acting: Badminton: Bush Walking: Creative Clay Work: Fitness (Girls): Golf: Ju-Jitsu: Lawn Bowls: Out Rigger Paddling: Photography: Rhee-tae-kwon-do: Sailing: Squash: Taiko Drumming: Tennis: Full program details and enrolment forms will be distributed to schools in the municipality. Apparently the evidence from last years survey tells us that we aren't that good at extending the hand of friendship. I'm sure we can do better . Its not hard, just continue to treat family and friends as you always have.
