25.01.2022 A busy night for Warburton, Wesburn/Millgrove & Little Yarra Brigades at a large shed fire. Sad loss of the shed & equipment but we are grateful the owner is safe. As ever, these big jobs take a team effort & it was very helpful to be able to call upon Little Yarra’s new Bill Fill to assist access to the river for water. Long night, rest well & our thanks.

25.01.2022 Are you burning off safely? With the weather warming up, now is a great time to start preparing for fire season. Every year, brigades are called out to out of control burn-offs. By doing the following you can make sure your burn-off remains safe and under control: Register your burn-off with ESTA 1800 668 511.... Check local council restrictions. Check the weather forecast for the day you are lighting your burn-off and the following 3 days. Make sure to keep an eye out for strong wind forecasts. Clear an area 3 metres around and above your burn-off. Have an adult always in attendance. Have sufficient water on hand to extinguish the burn-off. Fully extinguish the burn-off before leaving. https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare/burning-off

21.01.2022 Only one more sleep until Santa is visiting Warburton, East Warburton & Big Pats Creek. He will be on the fire truck from 1pm to 4pm so please be patient as there are many children to visit! Listen out for the siren as Santa gets closer & come out to the end of your drive or to the road corner. The truck may go past and double back to ensure we cover all areas. Due to the unusual circumstances of 2020 Santa will be required to stay on the truck this year but you can still ta...ke photos standing in front of the truck. Parents, please make sure the truck has come to a complete stop and that the helpful CFA volunteers indicate it is safe, before allowing children to approach. Be aware of other traffic in the area. We look forward to helping Santa see everyone! See more

20.01.2022 The search for missing Yarra Valley teen William Wall came to a tragic end with the 14-year-old found dead in Yarra Junction. Police have reported his death is... not being treated as suspicious. Emergency services conducted a two-day ground and air search after the boy did not return following his daily walk along the Warburton Trail at 6.45am yesterday. Victoria Police media advisor Nikki Ladgrove previously said police launched an air and ground search for a teen with high functioning autism after he went missing in Launching Place. Ms Ladgrove said William told his family he would be gone for 15 minutes but did not return home. Ms Ladgrove said the air wing, specialist solo’s unit, uniform members and SES volunteers were part of the search. Lifeline - 13 11 14

20.01.2022 Our thanks to all the emergency services & rescue specialist volunteers who are searching for Susan.
