20.01.2022 Thanks to all the people who donated to this cause via our PO. Your donations form part of this good will from Wollongong.
19.01.2022 Our doors are open and we are trading as we usually do! We have introduced safe squares on our floor to help with the social distance required, and our pin pads and counters have been receiving a lot of alcoholic rubs over the last 4 weeks. Our mail collection schedule has been bought forward to 3.30 pm daily, to allow enough time to get the mail going out of the state sorted and off to Sydney, to get on the few planes that are still flying. Most of Australia Post mail and pa...rcels are transported interstate by Qantas, so the reduction in Qantas flights is delaying the schedules, but the mail is still going everywhere within Australia. And of course we are still dealing in cash, as well as card and tap, for all your transactions, and all of your banking needs. You can deposit or withdraw cash as you need to, as always. A big welcome to all the homeworkers who have cropped up in our business over the last couple of weeks. We usually don't have a big call for home office supplies, but we are very happy to assist. We can get any print cartridges or toners overnight, and other supplies usually in a day or 2. If you think you may need something please give us a call on 42971730 and put in your request and we will do our best to have it for you ASAP. And thanks to our local community for continuing to support us during this troublesome time. We are ensuring we keep our space safe for everyone and so far, across Australia there has been no transmission in any Post Offices. Hopefully it stays like that till we get out the other side of this. If we can be of further assistance in helping you through this time, please let us know. We are here to help. A big thanks to the Illawarra Mercury for the advertisement in today’s paper to keep people in the Illawarra up to date.
17.01.2022 Our posties love seeing the notes of praise and the decorated mailboxes on their rounds. This morning @ABC News breakfast featured a story on the #thankapostie campaign that is giving extra love to our #Posties who are busy keeping Australia connected as we #StayAtHome
14.01.2022 Nothing will stop our dear Adeline from getting into the Easter spirit
14.01.2022 The Ruby Princess is heading home. It was nice to be a small part of making these people feel welcome in our community and obviously sending them on their way home with good feelings. Safe journey to all of them. Thanks again to our community members who donated to their care packages, and all who did the work to make that happen.
10.01.2022 We're putting a stop to people and businesses price gouging and exporting the essential medical supplies that we need here in Australia.

07.01.2022 This Mother’s Day you don’t have to be there to show you care. Sending a card, a letter or gift will #PostASmile and make Mum feel super special. And this year please do consider posting early as we are experiencing delays due to COVID19.#MothersDay #VirtualHugs

03.01.2022 Holiday fun to send to isolated grandparents to connect. A memory of this historic time in their young lives that will bring pleasure to all who are lucky enough to receive a hug in the post.

01.01.2022 -- Coin use and COVID-19 -- Medical experts have confirmed that coins and cash are safe to use there is no evidence that either coins or cash spread COVID-19.... The World Health Organization has rejected reports that it warned COVID-19 could be spread through handling cash. WHO spokeswoman Fadela Chaib said, ‘WHO did NOT say banknotes would transmit COVID-19, nor have we issued any warnings or statements about this.’ COVID-19 is transmitted through droplets caused by infected people coughing, sneezing or speaking, which can land on other people or common surfaces. You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within one metre of a person who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then touching your eyes, nose or mouth before washing your hands. The best defence against these droplets is to avoid touching your face, sanitise the surfaces of any items that you touch, and regularly wash or sanitise your hands. This applies equally if you use cash or cash-free methods such as contactless payments. Be sure to also wash your hands after using phones, credit cards, keypads or touchscreens. Being able to keep using cash during this period is vitally important for many people, particularly disadvantaged people such as those with literacy issues, on low incomes, and without regular access to phone or internet services. We urge retailers not to discriminate against people who prefer to use physical currency and to continue accepting cash to ensure people have access to the goods and services they need. Refusing cash could put an unnecessary burden on people who depend on cash as a means of payment. Please read the full statement and article before commenting. Thank you! https://bit.ly/39vORyC
