24.01.2022 SOBER UP SHELTER PHONE NUMBER UPDATED! We would like to thank everyone for your patience while our IT guys sorted out our phone line at the Sober Up Shelter. Now if you call the Waringarri office line 9168 1528 from 4.30pm Monday to Friday you’ll reach our Sober Up Shelter carers and the Community Connectors Night Patrol bus! If you have any issues getting through please send us a Facebook message and we will follow up as soon as we can. Happy Friday and stay safe Kununurra community!

24.01.2022 Our Youth and Strong Men’s teams were out and about today delivering support packages to families around Kununurra. These packs are full of information about services available during these times as well as activities for the young ones! If you need any assistance during the COVID19 crisis please give the team at the Waringarri office a call and we will see what we can do.

24.01.2022 With the cooler weather settling in our Strong Men's Youth Team have been busy heading out on Country! Last week we headed out to the Lower Ord. Although no fish were caught there was plenty of good times and tasty tucker around the campfire.

18.01.2022 Kununurra Waringarri Aboriginal Corporation is closed as of 12pm today for 2 weeks as staff are self isolating while the situation in town settles. We will be open for Indue and other enquiries from 10am till 12pm each day following strict COVID-19 protocols of social distancing and using hand sanitiser. We will reassess and hopefully reopen on the 21st April. Des, Jane and Beth are still contactable via email during this time for any other queries. If you require these contact details please PM us. 16.01.2022 Name that beautiful view?! Last week our Strong Men's Youth Team headed out for a camp out on country. They were welcomed with a traditional muntha ceremony and enjoyed getting out among the saltwater for the night. Trips like this are so important in teaching the younger generation about culture and country, and to be able to have some big conversations in a comfortable setting. Big thanks to Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service - OVAHS and Waringarri Aboriginal Arts for joining in and supporting the trip and especially to our budding photographers!

14.01.2022 Waringarri kicked off the school holidays last week with a trip to Lake Argyle Resort for all our One Family at a Time (OFAT) kids and parents. While some kids braved the freezing temperatures of the infinity pool, one little photographer took the camera and snapped these pics for us! The OFAT staff cooked up a big feed for everyone and ensured each child received a small reward to encourage strong school attendance for Term 3. All in all a great day was had Big thanks to Lake Argyle for having us and Target 120 for your support!

13.01.2022 We are recruiting! Waringarri are looking to hire a Team Leader for our new Intensive Family Support program. The role will be in charge of a small team of Outreach Workers helping families in Kununurra improve school attendance and become school ready.
