21.01.2022 Kittey Malarvie depicts a meditation on the multifaceted play of wind and light on the cloudy, milk-coloured water of Sturt Creek, south-west of Kununurra. The water moves quickly, stirring the circular shaped clusters of grasses and sand underneath, shimmering the water with a unique golden beauty. As Malarvie states, The rainbow serpent keeps the water there. The artist translates the language of place into the gestures and utterances of international abstraction. He...r increasing contemplation on movement of wind, light and the energetic presence below the waters’ surface reveal an artist fully immersed in the expression of intangible forces. Kittey Malarvie, Milkwater, 2019, 150 x 180cm, natural pigment on canvas. 5708-19 Enquiries: [email protected]

10.01.2022 Delany paints her grandmother’s Country, Larrgen in the area of Keep River as it flows through gorge country. During the wet seasons it is joined by little flood water creeks and the open country become marshy. There are lots of new grasses and spinifex growing and you can see the spirit of Country as it moves across the land with the wind in the grasses.
