22.01.2022 Although we can't train Muay Thai yet, Goju Ryu classes will re-commence next Tuesday 16 June. 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm as usual. Hojo Undo, Kihon and Kata only. No Bunkai as yet.... Any queries, please contact me.

21.01.2022 I've had a few queries from people asking whether classes will be resuming when "gyms" re-open on 13th June. The short answer is "No". The main conditions that gyms will have to adhere to if they choose to re-open for business from that date are: a) any equipment used will need to be wiped down after each use and b) social distancing of 1.5 metres between patrons still applies. Those 2 conditions alone make it impossible for us to resume classes yet. Given that we swap equipm...ent (Thai pads, kick shields etc) between each other constantly just makes "a" impractical, then there is the proximity that we train at with each other, particularly during the grappling and sparring segments of the class, making "b" impossible for us to adhere to as well. It is hoped that if the "soft" re-opening of all gyms goes well and doesn't result in a spike of the coronavirus that there will be a further relaxing of the restrictions placed upon them, enabling us to go back to "normal" training, or as close as we can come to it, in this new age of Covid19. There will be advance notification via this page when a date is decided upon for classes to resume. Until then, just keep doing bagwork at home. If you don't have a bag at home, well........ there's a lesson right there. Any queries regarding the above, please feel free to contact me direct.

20.01.2022 End of year gradings in Muay Thai tonight. Ten students attained their new ranks, with those doing the higher ranked gradings coming through especially strong. A credit to the instructors who have been instrumental in bringing them all through over the past couple of months.

19.01.2022 Only Dylan Connor for Goju tonight, with all others unable to attend. As often happens with a small class, tonight was full of learning and light bulb moments. An excellent session.

19.01.2022 Muay Thai classes re-commence Tuesday 7th July. See you on the mats.

18.01.2022 After 12 years of operating this latest incarnation of Warlord Martial Arts, I have recently decided to take a step back from constantly teaching classes and will concentrate instead on my own personal training, as well as some other important aspects of my personal life. I will still train in and teach the occasional class, so nobody will get off that easily , however the bulk of the teaching will now be done by my four instructors, all of whom have been with me for many years. I have every confidence that Jo Hunt, Jed Stubbs, Dylan Connor and Simon Elliott will continue to develop the quality martial artists that Warlord has been producing for the past 40 years.

17.01.2022 Good to see almost everyone back on the floor tonight. Thanks to Si Elliott for running the class while I concentrated on the newbies. See you all again Thursday.

16.01.2022 Closed for four months due to Covid19. Back this week with a keen crew. Feels good to sweat and bang pads again. Happy to see everyone has been keeping up some level of fitness and that technique hasn't suffered too much due to the time off.

16.01.2022 Another motivational video for everybody. If you want to book me for a speaking engagement, you'll need to get in quick, before I embark on my world tour

14.01.2022 Every sparring bout at the gym after quarantine ends be like Fight of the Year.

13.01.2022 Last class for 2020 tonight. A taste of Goju Ryu traditional karate for the Muay Thai students. Basic blocks and strikes, followed by a few connector drills before putting what they had practised into real-world scenarios. Nice to see everyone totally out of their comfort zones. ... First class next year Tuesday 5th January.

13.01.2022 Great to be back on the floor with some of the Goju gang.

13.01.2022 Goju Ryu Kenkyukai students remember to bring your makiwara pads to classes, so you can smak the mak.

12.01.2022 First class back for 2021. A good roll up from the ones I thought would front up. Well done team. Plenty of sweat, hard training and laughter. Good vibes.

10.01.2022 An update for all Warlord students

09.01.2022 One of the core principles at the Koryu Kyudokan.. Hands up !!!!

07.01.2022 Just a reminder tomorrow night the 17th is the last Muay Thai class for 2020. Muay Thai resumes 5th January 2021

07.01.2022 Hopefully the lockdown restrictions will ease in a month or so, in which case we may be able to train together again soon. Thought I'd make another quick motivational video while I was running through my katas this arvo. Enjoy.

06.01.2022 Madeline McDonald has completed her grading for her orange prajeets. With no prior training before stepping into our gym, Madeline has impressed us with her improvement in grappling and graded strong. Well done. Thankyou Si Elliott for chanting.

06.01.2022 Muay Thai is still on tonight normal time

05.01.2022 Goju students please bring a spare belt to class next week.
