We understood each other and we pushed each other to better outcomes. We helped each other in times of need. We fronted up for work when there was a job to do. Our partnership saw us reach an FEI ranking of 85 in the world. It also realised his worth to his home country’s society with the KWPN awarding him the highest honour of Preferent Keur thanks to his career at Grand Prix. Isabelle and Emmy - thank you. You both allowed Amanda and I the privilege of having such an incredible horse in our lives. Rest easy my friend, my heart, my horse. OO Seven, thank you. We will meet again.

19.01.2022 During the 90s, Mikee Cojuangco was a regularly competitor on the Australian World Cup jumping circuit. With her trainer Vicki Roycroft (Mikee claims to be Vick...s longest standing pupil), the Filipino model and actress started out here initially in young rider classes on the former Harley Brown Equestrian clydie-cross True Colours. Other horses Mikee competed on include Guesswork, purchased from Adam Mellers, and who was eventually on-sold to Andrew Inglis with the combination being named as reserves for the Aussie jumping team at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Then there was Rustic Rouge from Melissa Froesch who Mikee won individual gold and team silver at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea. But perhaps Mikees most famous mount was the legendary Coalminer, who she also had the opportunity to compete on. For the general sports fans out there, Mikees appointment to the IOC Executive Board fills a vacancy left by the famous Eastern block, Nike sponsored pole-vaulter Sergei Bubka, the first man to clear the elusive 20ft (6.10m). He worked for many years as Deputy Breeding Director and was responsible for developing various projects, including the Young Breeders Initiative, the breeding program for Hanoverian show jumping horses, and the research into OCD. In 1996 he obtained his doctorate degree with The development of breeding values based on the evaluation of mares in studbook inspections and mare performance tests. He has been editor of Hannoveraner Jarbuch Hengste since 1999 and is a member of the Interstallion working group of the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses. In 2002 Dr. Christmann became managing director for the Verband’s breeding abroad and director of a new division for research, development and consulting within the Hanoverian Society.

14.01.2022 AWHA QUEENSLAND BRANCH COLT SELECTION DAY The Queensland Branch Committee of the Australian Warmblood Horse Association Limited (AWHA Ltd) held another Colt Sel...ection Day for 2020, this time at Belcam Stud, Biddaddaba, in the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland of South East Queensland. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, we could not get an interstate Selector for the Colt Selection Panel in accordance with our Breeding Guidelines, so Federal Board Approval was given for three Colt Selectors from the same state. Therefore three Colt Selectors from Queensland were used. Many thanks to our Colt Selectors on the day; Bev Chugg, Joanne Verikios and Diana Wolyncevic, for their time and expertise. Congratulations to Emalie Rowan and Christopher O'Keefe of Hendrick Hill Performance Horses on their imported Hanoverian stallion Donero (Imp) (Don Darius x Lauries Crusador xx x Sandro Hit) gaining his Approved status with the Association. Donero (Imp) now has an active lifetime breeding permit with the Association having scored an overall general average of 76.46%. 12.01.2022 Vale - Melanie Schmorl It is with great sadness that we inform our constituents of the passing of the very influential AWHA founding member, Melanie Schmorl of ...Kinnordy Stud. Melanie and her husband Holger, were long-term successful breeders of Hanoverian horses and were extremely influential in the early formation of the AWHA. The stallions that stood at Kinnordy are still dominant in performance horse pedigrees and included Winterkoenig, Daktylus, Graf Landau, Silky Baby, Gymnastic Star, Riverdance and Danzante. It was Melanie’s asthma that brought the family from Germany to Australia in 1983. The Schmorl family made their home at Cambooya on the Darling Downs in Queensland and started Kinnordy. The stud was extremely successful breeding performance horses until Holger and Melanie’s retirement in 2014. Sadly, Holger passed away in 2016. The AWHA would like to extend our sincerest condolences to Melanie’s children Victoria and Fritz. A funeral will be held on Friday, 13th November commencing at 9.30am.
