25.01.2022 Thank you and Goodbye A big thank you to OSH Club for all their hard work and support over the many years they have been with Warnbro Primary School in caring for our students out of hours, you will be sorely missed and a special thank you to Deb, our program co-ordinator. Please see the letter that has gone to the existing OSH club families below.... Dear Warnbro OSHClub families OSHClub has been working in partnership with Warnbro Primary to create an onsite Out of Hours Care for the community since 2014. Unfortunately the need for this service has decreased and the program has been operating at a loss for the past several years. The Business has undergone a recent review of our viability and we regret that we are unable to extend our school contract for our services into 2021, our last day will be at the end of this term - Thursday 17th December. We want to assure you that this decision hasn’t been taken lightly. OSHClub is committed to WA Families and we understand the impact and inconvenience the closure will cause. For families that will need continuation of care in the new year we have included below several local providers that service the school with a pick up/drop off to hopefully assist. We are sorry that this decision had to be made and would like to take this opportunity to thank all families, the School and Educators for their support of our partnership. We would like to particularly thank our program Coordinator, Deb, who has been outstanding with her long term dedication to the service and community over many years. Deb is actually relocating to South Australia at the end of this year to be closer to her family and will be internally transferring her within the business. OSHClub wishes you and your children all the very best for the future. 22.01.2022 Choir Assembly Well done to our school choir who performed beautifully at today's assembly. It was very exciting to use our amazing stage for the first time as well. Morning tea was enjoyed by parents and choir students after the assembly to celebrate the choir's success this semester.

20.01.2022 YEAR 2/3 TRIP TO KALAMUNDA HISTORY VILLAGE The children from year 2 and 3 were taken to Kalamunda History Village as part of the HASS History learning experience. They got to experience aspects of early Australian life from the 18th and 19th century. They explored the old homestead, did the washing with a washboard and mangle, visited the carriage house, played old fashioned games, had a lesson in the old school house and saw the cane! The students in room 6 came back to school and wrote a persuasive text about whether the excursion was the best or worst ever. Most students thought it was the best ever.

The students learnt about animal conservation and engaged with some native Australian animals including a dingo pup and koala. The children learnt about caring for some of our endangered species and safety around snakes. They even got to touch some of the animals! 16.01.2022 Tuesday 15th September Faction Carnival Reminder and Update Warnbro Primary School welcomes parents and carers to come down and support their children who are taking part in the Faction Carnival. During the events we please ask parents to stay clear of the faction tents. Parents/Carers are welcome to share recess and lunch with their children within school grounds. If your child is in Pre-Primary or Year 1 this will take place in the Early Childhood play area. Students in Yea...rs 2-6 must remain on the school oval unless they have siblings in Pp or Year 1 and their parents/carers are present; then they are welcome to go to the ECE play area for this time. Please be reminded that students are expected to remain at school until 2:30, however if you do need to sign out your child this will be through the Administration tent close to the running race finish line. We are looking forward to this wonderful community day. See more

15.01.2022 This term the students from Room 16 visited Point Walter Camp to stretch out of their comfort zones and discover strengths and talents they never knew they had! The day started with co-operation games and it was wonderful to see our Year 6 students participate keenly and demonstrate highly developed problem solving skills. We progressed to the flying fox amongst the tree tops. Here we saw students really dig deep and find the courage to leap into the air from the high platfo...rm. The award for "Best Aerial Stunt" went to Michelle, our school chaplain! Students really stepped up when they spotted one of their peers in difficulty and, before I knew it, they had created their own cheerleader routine to try and give her the necessary courage. What wonderful community members they have become! Finally, we moved to the challenge of the high ropes course where students were asked to tackle a variety of climbing apparatus to reach dizzying heights. At this point their knees really started to quake! Once again, the students dug deep and really gave it their all. Whether climbing themselves, or urging their friends (and teacher!) to new heights, they were utterly amazing. Seeing my students in this setting was a real privilege. I saw people draw on inner strengths that they didn't know existed, but which they will now be able to apply to new situations and challenges. I saw them support, encourage and celebrate each other's challenges and successes. I am so proud of every single one of them! Mrs Rumney

07.01.2022 Your Move at Warnbro Primary School Warnbro Primary has been involved in Your Move for over ten years. We promote active transport to school by running incursions and special days, such as Ride, Run, Obstacle Fun and Constable Care Incursions. We have a team of students who assist in the running of these activities. They blog about the activities on the Your Move web site and earn points which we can convert to dollars to spend in the rewards shop. As well as prizes for our RERS assemblies the team has updated our bike/scooter parking area, had an access map of the safest routes to school and sent classes to the Constable Care Safety School. The team work very hard to achieve the goals they set. Warnbro Primary School has taken top spot on the Your Move Ladder for the last five years and reached Double Platinum three years running.

06.01.2022 Our fabulous gardener Gary has been very busy mulching and planting the front of our school and our front pathway and gardens are looking much more beautiful. We are very excited to see our plants grow bigger and these gardens look even more beautiful. Thank you Gary for all your hard work, which makes such a difference to our school.

05.01.2022 RUOK Assembly Today, after all of the classes had been focusing on the importance of RUOK, we had a very successful presentation of our work at our assembly, where there was a sea of yellow. Crystal, a Year 6 student, did an outstanding job of reading a report and assisting Mrs Coslani to present Certific-Mates to one student from each class who had been selected by their teachers as being a good friend. During the two weeks leading up to the RUOK Assembly, students had been asked to nominate someone who had been a good friend and the response was amazing. One nomination was drawn out of the box and it was written by Doris (Rm 10) for Rawene (Rm 10). Both girls received an RUOK goodies bag. Both students and staff should to be congratulated for their enthusiasm and support towards our inaugral RUOK Day involvement.

05.01.2022 On Thursday 12 November we had a busy bee to tidy up our Ngulla Mya area. Although there is much more to be done, the area is looking much improved already.

04.01.2022 Today EC4 shared a retell of the story ‘The Papaya Who Spoke’. Using the popular approach ‘Talk for Writing’ the students were able to confidently use a range of vocabulary to orally tell a story. In class the next step will be to change one element of the story to make it their own and then have a go at writing it. What a wonderful way to to celebrate all the fabulous creative work the children get to experience in Early Childhood at Warnbro Primary School.
