25.01.2022 Hi everyone, Only 2 weeks of normal competition left for this season (then 2 wks of RDLAC Centre Champs., Zones & States)! And this weekend is Warnbro Swans' Fundraiser, which means Danielle has again organised some fantastic raffle prizes for us, and we'll be at Hourglass Reserve on Australia Day for Programme 1. 24.01.2022 Important Update for start of season- To all Families/Members After an inspection of our track this morning it has been decided that our season will now start on the 24th of October. The decision was made because the grounds are not completely up to scratch and have many areas where there are patches of sand with new growth at its beginning. Rather than risking injury and the chances of a sub standard track for the whole season we will give the track the extra 5 weeks to gr...ow and establish itself. This change will cancel what would have been our first 2 week cycle and as such no athlete will be adversely affected as far as points are concerned. The up side is that some athletes will now have an opportunity to finish some winter sports that have continued into the beginning of October without any clashes. We will also continue to not train on the grounds until our first competition in order to give ourselves the best possible chance at the grounds being ready by the 24th. This decision was not an easy one and it may not be to the liking of some but we need to do what is best for all concerned. Thank you for your understanding. Lea Cramer RDLAC Chairman

20.01.2022 LAWA STATE Championships CANCELLED Important message - LAWA State Championships Dear Member,... LAWA State Track and Field Championship 2019/20 Announcement: Given the highly contagious nature of the Covid-19 virus we have consulted with Industry leaders regarding the current state of affairs and the potential impact on this weekends State Championships. The LAWA Board has made the difficult decision to cancel the event this weekend in light of information provided. We are also aware of other public events that have been cancelled in WA this week. The health and well-being of the Athletics Community, including Athletes, Parents, Family Members, Volunteers, Officials and Staff involved with the event is our paramount concern. We understand this is a late decision, however, with Health Department updates occurring hourly, we have not been able to make this decision until now. We are currently working though the logistics of this decision and the impact it has. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused. Kind Regards, Vince Del Prete Chief Executive Officer One Management Team Athletics in WA

06.01.2022 ***IMPORTANT*** To all Parents, please read all! 1. Results: there has a lot of complaints about results not being posted/uploaded in a timely manner. We are ne...ed to understand that these results have to be manually uploaded by an official who on most Saturdays has already put in 7-8 hours at our competition. We all enjoy our family time and our hard working officials are no different. Results will no longer be uploaded on a Saturday but rather Sunday or Monday. All results should be viewable by Wednesday of the following week. Whilst this will not suit some we also must remember that this is a job done out of the good nature of someone who doesnt get paid to do it so your understanding would be appreciated. ALL questions about results must go through your team manager or they will not be answered (this includes Facebook). 2. Long Jump/TripleJump: please remember that these sites are no different to any other site and as such patents are not allowed on the site, which includes parents coming out to move or adjust site equipment without being asked to do so. Failure to adhere to the above can result in the disqualification of your child from the event. 3. Officials: if there are any queries about the conduct or ability of a site official then the complaint must be brought up with your team manager the the team manager will talk to the arena manager. RDLAC will not tolerate the abuse of any official and as such any parent found abusing an official maybe responsible for their childs event and or day being stopped. 4. No part of the competition arena is to be used to warm up for an event after 7:25am and no implements are to be used in the competition arena unless it is under the supervision of a site official directly prior to an event. Kind Regards Lea Cramer RDLAC Chairman
