20.01.2022 After living abroad in New York for the past two years I arrived back home to Australia just in time to lock down with the rest of Melbourne. The second lockdo...wn, with no live music, comedy or theatre, no friends popping over, kids home schooling from the kitchen table and interactive 5km radius maps, dragged on so long and so hard it was difficult to imagine when live performance of any kind might make a return. But here it is. I am dusting off my isolated heart, mind and fingers for my first performance in Melbourne at the Malthouse Theatre Outdoor Stage. I have fond memories of the courtyard between Malthouse Theatre and ACCA; that is where I spent my board-treading 20s- seeing and performing in unapologetically mid-to-low-brow theatre before socialising into the wee small hours in the sunken concrete feature we affectionately called the ashtray. To be able to stand on stage again- any stage- is almost literally mind blowing to me. To be doing that on home turf is a real gift. I’ll be there with new songs, new musical collaborations, and a few details on the intimately small and big things that make up a life. I truly hope you can come along.

This project is called 'Play It On'. Fellow Little River Band founding member Graeham Goble is part of an online collaboration of 5 composers and 5 singers and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, all donating their services in support of the Arts in Australia. Graeham wrote 'Reminiscing' (1978 Sleeper Catcher LP), which gained a BMI 5 Million Air Play award a few years ago. Also, did you recognise the guitarist sitting by the fireplace? It's David Briggs from the classic lineup of Little River Band. As a very clever nod to the original Reminiscing video clip, he is playing the very same guitar.
