20.01.2022 Another fantastic achievement for Zoe! She represented Warner’s Bay High at the School Sport Australia National Diving Championships in Melbourne last week. Zoe placed 8th in Individual springboard achieving a PB and 5th in mixed Synchro. Placing so highly at Nationals counts Zoe among Australia's best student athletes, and her family and the WBHS community are very proud of her efforts!

15.01.2022 The WBHS U15 girls basketball team went to Broadmeadow basketball stadium on Tuesday to take on the lake area teams. The girls dominated each of their opponents with convincing wins in all 3 games against Cardiff, Toronto and Swansea. Our new to basketball-netballers picked up the game quickly and showed excellent skill on both defence and offence. Our next outing will be in Maitland on the 21st against in the region finals -M Morrissey

11.01.2022 Warners Bay High School had four students who represented Lake Macquarie BMX Club competing in the 2019 NSW BMX Championships on 5th and 6th October. These students all compete is a very tough, skilled and competitive age group. Conner finished 6th in 15-16 boys 24 inch cruiser class and 3rd in 15 boys 20 inch class. Oscar missed the finals by 2 places being knocked out at semi-finals. Conner then competed in the BMX NSW State Series finishing 2nd in 15 boys, where he attended a presentation night and was awarded with a state jersey and race plate. Conner also competed in the BMX Australia series. After all the results were finalised from the 7 rounds Conner finished 4th in the national series for 15 boys. Well done all!

10.01.2022 Ground-breaking Girls! Last Tuesday the Warners Bay High u16’s Girls Rugby League team made the short trip to Hunter Barnett fields to compete in the Caitlin Moran Shield. This group committed to preparation leading up to the competition, coming together on numerous occasions to polish their skills and ability to work as a team, in a sport that was new to many. It paid dividends during their opening game against Kotara High, as they took victory to the tune of 28-20. ... They then met St Paul’s in the second match of the day, albeit without halfback Alyssa, due to an injury she sustained in the dying stages of the previous game. Tanisha, Tia and Amy stepped up to fill the leadership void as they went to battle with the more experienced side from Booragul. The girls from the Bay tried hard as they broke the line on many occasions and pulled off some impressive try saving cover tackles. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough, with St Paul’s getting the better of them in the end, winning 24-12. The girls should be congratulated on the effort and commitment they showed both on the day and in the lead up. They did themselves and the school community proud as they were the first ever girls team to represent Warners Bay High at a Rugby League competition. A big thank you to the NRL for organising this event and to the parents who supported the idea. Mr Farrar
