22.01.2022 Dear Families, the following note has been emailed to all our families with information about our end of year event. We appreciate your understanding and support. Beth Purdy-Dart

22.01.2022 Every Friday our students have been working on Stobie Pole art for our community. The children have been lucky to work with 2 local artists: Jasmine Swales and Rick Hutchinson. The children have been very fortunate to have this opportunity and the art they have been creating is amazing. We can’t wait to see these up around Warooka.

20.01.2022 All USB’s with our end of year celebration been either given out or posted to families. We hope you enjoy our virtual event.

20.01.2022 This morning we had our school transition morning where the children from SBP to year 6 worked in the classroom spaces and with their teachers for 2021. The year 7 students used this time to work on their decorations for the year 7 dinner. It was fantastic to see the children happily working with their teachers and classmates.

17.01.2022 The Department for Education is presenting a webinar on online safety. Many of our children are regular users of the internet and this could be a valuable education opportunity for our families to access.

17.01.2022 The concert USB’s are ready to be collected or sent! The movie is in an MP4 format so can be viewed on a computer or through a television USB port. We have our USB’s ready to go one for each student family. If you would like to collect one today or tomorrow please comment on the post or ring the school and we will hold it for you. Alternatively we will post them out to families tomorrow. We do have extra USBs available and if you would like more than one copy for extended family we will sell the 4gig USB with the concert and the school logo for $10 each. The USB can then be reused or added to in the future.

16.01.2022 Congratulations to our year 7 graduates as they leave Warooka for the final time. Unfortunately, I mistimed the yard visit during the annual water fight. We will miss your enthusiasm and sense of humour. Ms Purdy-Dart

16.01.2022 Warooka Schools is currently assessing the viability of running an after school OSHC and/or vacation care in 2021. All current families have been emailed the following survey but it is possible that we may be able to provide care for other school age children who travel past Warooka on the bus in the afternoon. Can families please share and answer the following survey on OSHC prior to 18th January 2021. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YGLJJ8D

13.01.2022 The stobie poles are completed and are up on Warooka’s Main Street. They look fantastic and the students should be very proud. A big thank you to our visiting artists Rick and Jasmine and to Ed and Rachel who we wouldn’t have completed this project without.

03.01.2022 Dear families, Unfortunately I was unexpectedly on class today and wrote a newsletter article in a very short amount of time. I did not get a chance to proof read the newsletter before it went out today and did not pick up the error until the article went home. After talking to Josh Harkin as Governing Council Chair today, we had agreed to hold off announcing the school concert decision until Tuesday’s health announcement. In light of this, the article should have read a letter will go home on Tuesday about the end of year Celebration with final details. I apologise for this error, Beth.

01.01.2022 Today the year 6/7 students raced CO2 cars in the gym. Ed has been working with them all term on this project. Congratulations on your learning.

01.01.2022 In the 3/4/5 class this term, the students have been learning about design thinking. They have designed and created bag tags and fidget toys. Thanks to the Warooka Parents and friends group we were able to use the donated 3d printer to start printing the children’s designs today. The great thing about the 3d printer is that the printing filament is made out of cornstarch so the designs are all biodegradable.

01.01.2022 This term, a number of Warooka School children have been working with Jasmine from Studio Surf at after school art club at Ballara. Jasmine has worked so hard with the children and they have been making amazing artworks. If you get a chance, I would encourage families to have a look at their marvellous creations in the exhibition at the Baker Bros Top Shop Gallery.

01.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing our families at acquaintance night tonight! Classrooms are open from 5:30pm and BBQ starts at 6pm.
