25.01.2022 PERTH 2021 AFL MASTERS NATIONAL CARNIVAL FURTHER CALL FOR PLAYER EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST TO STATE COACHES... The AFL Masters National Carnival will be held in Perth from Sunday 26th September to Saturday 2nd October 2021 Thank you to those players that have provided EOI's to the relevant coaches and those that have spoken to coaches during the 2020 season with an intention to be available. The State Coaches are continuing to plan for the WA State teams with training to commence in February 2021 in both Metro and Regional locations. This is a further call for players to contact each individual coach via email that are considering playing at Perth 2021. IF YOU LEAVE IT TILL MID 2021 YOU WILL LEAVE IT TO LATE as the coaches have timeframes they need to meet in regards to selection therefore early information on player squad numbers etc are valuable to each of the coaches moving into early 2021, and assist in developing the training program. AFL Masters WA has stated to AFL Masters National and the other visiting states that at a minimum we will have two teams in each grade possibly three, final numbers based upon interstate team numbers finalised in mid- 2021. WA has also stated that in the event that an interstate team doesn't have enough touring numbers for a full side, extra WA players will make up the numbers to allow those interstate players to play in their state jumper in their state side. Any WA player who fills in for another state wearing their jumper will receive a WA jumper and be part of the WA team activities. If you have questions in relation to Player Selection Criteria you can find them on the AFL MASTERS WA website at https://www.aflmasterswa.com.au/about-us/our-rulesand in the AFLMWA 2020 By-laws. The WA State Coaches are as follows: 35/40s Div 1 - Rob Cox (Mandurah Makos) - [email protected] 35/40s Div 2 - Darryl Crotty (Eastern Hills) - [email protected] 45s Div 1 - Rob Steel (Kingsway) - [email protected] 45s Div 2 - Tim Smith (Brentwood) - [email protected] 50s Div 1 - Stephen Jones (Southern Saints) - [email protected] 50s Div 2 - To be determined 55s Div 1 - Ernie Sharpie (Leschenault Crabs) [email protected] 55s Div 2 - Dave Tonge (Vic Park Pigs) [email protected] 60s Div 1 - Greg Dellar (Eastern Hills) [email protected] 60s Div 2 - Allen McDougall (Mandurah Makos) - [email protected] Women's Div 1 - Paul Rogers (Northern Warriors) - [email protected] Women's Div 2 - TBD Should you have queries or questions please contact Rob Cox ([email protected]) or Nathan Dixon ([email protected]) Cheers AFL Masters WA
