21.01.2022 Like most clubs and organisations at the moment, the Waroona Golf Club is now closed for competition golf. This is on advice from GolfWA and the Federal and State government to ensure compliance with strict social distancing and social gathering policies. We look forward to welcoming golfers back to enjoy the benefits of all the hard work the volunteer grounds keepers have been putting in of late when the regulations are relaxed. ... WGC Committee

16.01.2022 **************************************** Only a few spots left for free coaching starting this Thursday afternoon. Please get in touch to book your spot. ************************************** We are very fortunate to have been successful in our application for an Active Regional Community Initiatives Scheme Grant offered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. The grant is being used to offer introductory golf coaching by a professional. It is ...free of charge to community members interested in taking up the game of golf. The program commences 7th of November and runs for 5 consecutive Thursday's. It is available to all ages 5 and above with group cut offs between junior and seniors being determined by the numbers interested. Basic equipment will be provided and no previous experience is necessary. As numbers are very limited, please only commit if you can see the entire 5 week program out.

12.01.2022 Please remember, all non financial members of the Waroona Golf Club are requested to pay the green fee to use the course. With the current restrictions and flags and scrapers not available on course, the fees have been reduced to $5 per person for 9 or 18 holes until further notice. Please follow the instructions at the front door to pay and carry your receipt during the round - it can be requested to be produced by course management and members . ... 11.01.2022 Junior Golf Coaching The Waroona Golf Club is hoping to offer junior coaching in school term 4 this year. Initial thoughts are a 10 week program, 1 session per week. Ages 8 and up. ... Coaching will be provided by a visiting coach and the program will be of no or very minimal cost. To enable the club to progress with planning, I am asking for initial, no commitment expressions of interest to participate. 05.01.2022 The Sundercombe Perpetual Trophy has been run and won with Wayne Cooper taking out the 27 hole par event in windy conditions with an even score. Alan Jefferey was runner up with square also, and 3rd place was Brad stone with -1. Next week is the Nomads challenge sponsored by John Mason.

01.01.2022 Whilst the club is yet to commence the season of competition golf, there are lots of families and new faces enjoying a round during these restrictive times. If you do head down for a game and are perhaps new to the sport, please help out by abiding by some simple rules: Please no buggies on the green (the big black thing). Park them to the side and then putt. ... Please avoid the areas where the retic is above surface where grass is trying to be established. If your ball goes in here, chuck it out somewhere else and play on. Please stay off the tee boxes where the new turf has been rolled, or where top dressing has occurred. If you are really new to golf, perhaps tee off from 10m down the fairway to avoids putting divots on the tee box area. Thanks for your co-operation and enjoy getting out and about.
