25.01.2022 WARNING - A TOTAL FIRE BAN HAS BEEN IMPOSED FOR THE SHIRE OF WAROONA FOR SATURDAY 11TH APRIL 2020 FROM 12.01AM UNTIL 11.59PM

25.01.2022 Tonight’s BA refresher included a whole lot of pain! Two rounds of this circuit lets you know you’re alive

25.01.2022 Who remembers the 6th of June last year? Many emergency services crews certainly do. This was the 3rd busiest day in DFES history for call outs with 284 emergency incidents reported. This included a series of complex fires at Jarrahwood. The forecast weather for this weekend is very similar to the conditions experienced in June last year.... Given the northerly direction of the winds, there is a significant risk of turbulent winds resulting in erratic and anomalous fire behavior along slopes and near elevated terrain including the Darling Scarp. How can you help avoid another June 6 2019?? Refrain from lighting any new fires now. Between now and Saturday, extinguish any existing burns no matter how small and seemingly insignificant. Remain vigilant with any activities that may cause fire. Of course, after the fire threat has passed and before we hopefully see some welcome rain, also prepare for the wind and rain event expected around your property.

23.01.2022 This past summer was a true demonstration of how Australians band together when the going gets tough. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved in the depl...oyment of our 22 Strike Teams over east this past summer. From the individuals deployed, their families and loved ones, to the State Ops Team coordinating and SES volunteers providing airport transfers - thank you for enabling WA to be there when our fellow Aussies were in dire straits. #StrongerTogether

If you did not express interest earlier but would like to come down, please do. Ages 12 to 17. Everyone please wear long pants and closed in footwear. See you there!

19.01.2022 How good are these guys! A difficult rescue late this afternoon for the brigade with a truck rolled over on its roof. With no width on the gravel road to put the chopper down, the next best thing was a granite outcrop close by.

18.01.2022 The Emergency WA page has had some functional updates rolled out. Be sure to bookmark the web address on your mobile device.

17.01.2022 Please be aware of the Total Fire Ban and Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban in the Shire of Waroona for Christmas Day. This includes wood fired cooking including heat beads so the roast might have to be done inside this year. Merry Christmas Waroona VFES.

16.01.2022 How awesome for the salvos to get an upgrade to the emergency response kitchen. Hopefully we don’t get to dine in too often.
