23.01.2022 To all User Groups & Gym Patrons, Due to the floor refurbishment the Warracknabeal Leisure Centre will CLOSE from 13th December 2019 as it will be a construct...ion site. Gym will officially Close from 6.30pm Friday 13th December 2019. Stadium will close following the last game of the Warracknabeal Amateur Basketball Association Grand final 13th December 2019. Could all affected user Groups please ensure they take any of their remaining stock & left behind articles (including lost & found items) as there is strictly NO ACCESS after 13th December 2019. For those groups that have regular Gym bookings or access the table tennis room please make alternative arrangements for your Groups during this period. *Kindly pass this information onto to your affected staff, employees, Community Carers & club officials. The Warracknabeal Leisure Centre hopes to re-open Monday 2nd February 2020 (but may possibly be unavailable until early March) depending on the contractors review progress which will be completed before the end of January and go from there with closures or restricted hours/access. We apologies for this short term inconvenience & thank you for your time & patience while this important project is in process. 22.01.2022 Well that’s a wrap! A couple of weeks ago we held our grand finals and finished our season earlier than usual to allow the floors to be refurbished. Thank you to all players and parents for your understanding during this altered season. We would also like to thank everyone who helped in any way with our Aussie Hoops and Friday night competition games. From scoring to coaching to helping in the canteen - it all helps to keep our little Association running. To our wonderful ...umpires - thank you so much. Without your willingness to take on this role we would not be able to operate. To the WABA committee, thank you for your tireless efforts on Friday nights and behind the scenes. It takes a whole team of volunteers to ensure everything runs smoothly and you did it with ease! We would like all parents to seriously consider joining the committee next year to ensure the competition continues. 13.01.2022 WABA would like to congratulate John Beney (Beanz) on being awarded as a life member of WABA. Beanz played for years in the Slabs colors and as a representative player. After retiring as a player he began coaching and umpiring and continues to do so many years later. Thank you to Mick Gunn for making a speech and presenting Beanz with his award. Well done Beanz!
