23.01.2022 Plastic Free July Challenge Is coming to an end..... PLASTIC FREE GIFT GIVING AND GIFT WRAPPING When giving gifts, look around for wood, metal, glass, paper and natural material products. All these can be recycled or composted, you can even get compostable sticky tape! Buy sturdy wooden toys for children that can be repaired and that can hold up against rough play. The list of gifts you can give are endless once you look beyond plastic, like a simple change to a natural wove...n basket from a plastic pot. Wrap them in brown paper and string, as the song goes: brown paper packages tied up in string, theses are a few of my favourite things. Add dried flowers, fresh sprigs of herbs, or even fresh flowers to the wrapping. You can then either re-use or compost the brown paper, or turn it into grease proof paper by applying oil to one side and lining your baking tray. Re-usable cotton tote bags are great as a gift wrap as well as using natural material like calico, hessian or even a cotton tea towel that can be used again and serves another purpose. Think outside the square (or parcel) next time you are gift purchasing and wrapping, make it memorable and make it Plastic Free!! See more

23.01.2022 Warradale Community Childrens Centres are located at: Warradale Campus - 362 Morphett Road, Warradale SA Parkholme Campus -1A Duncan Ave, Park Holme SA ... Our Centres are proud of our spacious and vast outdoor areas for important play and learning time. Our teaching and learning programs are based on Belonging, Being and Becoming as outlined in the Early Years National Framework and the National Quality Standards. Learning occurs throughout the day from arrival to departure because we understand that there is potential for learning in every space, routine and experience. We value our ongoing learning and have a responsibility to make learning visible through many forms of documentation. We believe that our position is to nurture and guide children to be confident, curious learners with the ability to problem solve within a self-esteem enhancing environment and play based program. 23.01.2022 May 26 - is Sorry Day At Warradale Community Childrens Centre we acknowledge and believe in the trauma that Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People live with because of the Stolen Generations. We know this pain is not only part of their past, but a very real part of the present day. We recognise and celebrate the strength and resilience of Australia's First Nations People and we strive to walk the path of Reconciliation every day.

21.01.2022 Today is world kindness day!

21.01.2022 Last week, on February 13 was the day that the Stolen Generations survivors and their descendants commemorate the day that former prime minister Kevin Rudd apologised for the cruel policies of past governments. Our centres were represented by Pamela, Dian, Kayla and director Trish who were amongst 1800 others. It was an extremely humbling and emotional morning and we all felt incredibly honoured to have shared this wonderful experience. ... We are pictured here with Auntie Suzanne Russell a member of the Stolen Generation.

14.01.2022 Meet our community: As a parent 39 years ago, Trish joined the Management Committee of the community based child care centre that her children attended, because she wanted to make sure they were getting the highest possible care and education they could. 14.01.2022 , . It's officially National NAIDOC Week, and this year’s theme is Always Was, Always Will Be. It's about recognising that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. The First Peoples engraved the world’s first maps, made the earliest paintings of ceremony and invented unique technologies. They also built and engineered structures predating well-known sites such as the Egyptian Pyramids and Stonehenge.... To learn more about the theme, visit: www.naidoc.org.au or follow National NAIDOC. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek

11.01.2022 From 7 Aug 2020, it will be mandatory for children attending an early childhood service to be up-to-date with vaccinations. Parents are required to provide approved immunisation records upon enrolment, and at other specific ages throughout the childs attendance at: childcare centres family day care... pre-schools kindergartens early learning centres Early childhood services are also required to keep a copy of all approved immunisation records for the duration a child is enrolled in their service. Retaining immunisation records onsite will enable a faster response time during a vaccine preventable disease outbreak, and help protect vulnerable children. An approved immunisation record is a childs immunisation history statement from the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Check the AIR to see your childs records, and talk to your immunisation provider to ensure your child is fully immunised.

09.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day!

08.01.2022 We are very happy to announce that from Monday 1st June we will provide collection points for the "Adelaide Clothes Swappers group" What is the Adelaide Clothes Swappers? The Adelaide Clothes Swappers group started 18 months ago when Jasmine decided to hold a swap event with 15 new mun-friends. The group now has 1.3k members and has made a huge impact to it's participants. It is run with the help of volunteers across Adelaide. They aim to reduce clothing waste and save famil...ies money. It operates by having a place to "drop" good quality, outgrown clothes and pick up "new" clothes for only $5 total. The initiative is driven by sustainability and zero waste principles; a space for families in the community to easily reduce the environmental and financial impact of "fast fashion" They also work closely with community charities; remaining items are donated to local charities if/when requested, or saved for future events. Hosts have adapted to the new restrictions for COVID-19 and put changes in place to be able to begin running again safely. Look up "Adelaide Clothes Swappers" on Facebook and join the group for all the event details! https://www.facebook.com/groups/586902955108775/?ref=share Warradale Community Children's Centre will provide 2 drop off points - one at each Centre. Please donate any clothes in any size that are still in good condition - give as you would give to a friend.Every size is welcome but feel free to also include clothes from school aged older siblings The group also accepts bedding, accessories and shoes.

05.01.2022 When children are encouraged to engage with blocks, it helps to further develop their fine motor skills of manipulation; their language skills' their social skills of taking turns, and negotiation skills; their cognitive development of imagination; and their creativity and imaginative skills.
