22.01.2022 What a year! As we close up today for the last time in 2020 we would like to thank everyone for their support during this challenging year. Cameron, Leigh and the team will be back on Tuesday 5th January for 2021 which hopefully brings everyone health, happiness and a few less challenges! Merry Christmas!

20.01.2022 Today is THANK YOU day which marks the sacrifices Victorians have made in containing the spread of coronavirus. So, sending lots of flowers to everyone in local Gippsland community for all the times you have stayed at home, worn masks, home schooled (yikes, lets hope we are past that!), worked from the dining table, zoomed friends for catch-ups, kept your 1.5m distance, got COVID tested, washed hands, and refrained from visiting older/vulnerable members of our community. Thank you!

18.01.2022 In our latest newsletter, we continue our discussion on leg length discrepancy (LLD) and its relationship to back pain and scoliosis. There is also some very important advice for those who use a heel lift to address LLD. If you missed it, don't worry, you can also find it on our website blog. 08.01.2022 NEW STUDY FURTHER DEMONSTRATES THE EFFECTIVENESS OF FLEXION/DISTRACTION THERAPY FOR PERSISTENT LOW BACK PAIN Chiropractic treatment was founded upon ‘high velocity’ spinal manipulation techniques. These techniques have been extensively studied over many years in clinical trials and demonstrate effectiveness for treating spinal pain. Studies have also shown that ‘low velocity’ spinal mobilisation techniques are effective for treating spinal pain. A new clinical trial recently... published (by physiotherapists in Spain) compared the short-term effects of Cox flexion-distraction technique to traditional high velocity chiropractic manipulations for managing chronic Low back pain. The study measured the improvements in back pain severity, muscle tenderness, physical disability, and forward bending flexibility. Two sessions per week for 2 weeks were given to each group (there were 75 participants in each group). In an outstanding result, over half (56%) of the flexion distraction group achieved a greater than 50% reduction in low back pain severity at 2-week follow-up. This was compared to the high velocity manipulation group in which only 8% achieved this result. Furthermore, all other outcome measures were also improved to statistical significance in the flexion-distraction group. We are so excited to see this research adding to the body of work already completed. It provides further valuable evidence and clinical guidance. Cameron and Leigh are proud to offer evidence based spinal treatments to the Gippsland community and particularly Cox flexion-distraction and spinal decompression therapy. For more information about flexion distraction please visit our website: http://warragulchiropracticcentre.com.au/coxtechnic/

06.01.2022 Warragul Chiropractic is proudly an evidence based chiropractic clinic. Cameron and Leigh are always keen to share their knowledge of the latest evidence with you during your appointments. However, they are also keen to add to that knowledge base. It is for this reason, we are proudly recruiting for the BACE: Chiropractic Study. It is an international study that is investigating the course, and increasing knowledge on, back pain in older adults. This month they recruited the...ir 100th Australian participant. Well done BACE team! To all the participants from Warragul Chiropractic, a huge thank you for your time and effort to this valuable research. More information about the study can be found at: https://www.mq.edu.au//our-re/bace-chiropractic-australia

04.01.2022 COVID19 Update: The New Wave...what does it mean for your Chiropractic Services? Since stage 3 lockdown in March, Baw Baw Shire has been fortunate to have avoided community spread of COVID19. Recent events in Victoria means that community spread in our region is taking place, and in recent days positive cases have been confirmed in our Shire. With this in mind, we will be keeping a close eye on local infections and the associated risks to you our clients. During this time o...ur practitioners will be taking the extra precaution of wearing N95 face masks whilst delivering manual therapy. N95 masks significantly reduce airborne infection from practitioner to client and from client to practitioner. Please know that these masks are precautionary, and should our practitioners or staff exhibit cold or flu-like symptoms (or test positive for COVID19) they will obviously stay at home. For more about how we are managing COVID19 risks at our practice, click on the following link to access our latest newsletter: https://mailchi.mp//dr-leigh-day-to-become-cox-certified-2
