The visiting Skye capitalised on the few opportunities they had, but the home side dominated possession, hit the post twice and had a goal disallowed for a questionable offside decision. 18.01.2022 Our final game of the season has been rescheduled to Saturday, 1st September at Baxter Park with kick off at 10:30am. This will be followed by our U14 Awards Day commencing at 12:30pm in the clubrooms. The event will run in conjunction with the club Sponsors Day and the final senior and reserves matches of the season. We invite all players, family, friends and supporters to come along and enjoy a big day of festivities at the club. Players are asked to wear their full tracksuit for team photos prior to the match and following the game for trophy presentations. 18.01.2022 "With the season now over and in wake of our recent awards day when I had the opportunity to present some individual accolades and praise some of the more notable performers on the team, I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the entire Warragul United Under 14 squad on a successful and enjoyable year. Although the losses heavily outnumbered our victories and after falling well short of our league winning achievements of a year ago I want you to know that I am extre...mely proud of you all. This year we played at a higher grading to that of 2017. This year we faced tougher competition. We quickly had to learn how to play with a more balanced team approach and adapt to different on-field positions. So when you look back at the 2018 season and dwell on the fact that we finished second last, remember this We didnt finish last, and we were always competitive! A few close results didnt quite go our way, but we were ALWAYS COMPETITIVE! Its easy for a coach to look back at a season like that and think that he has failed the team, but when I put things into perspective I realised that winning isnt everything. Im confident that along the way you all have learned something and Im quite sure youve enjoyed it (your commitment to training each week and your participation on a Sunday is proof of that). So dont look at the league standings, instead think of the fun weve had and the lessons weve learned. To all you boys Thank you! Although being your coach has been demanding at times it is still one of the most rewarding opportunities I have ever been given, and while I was standing there at training on a cold and wet Thursday night just a few weeks ago, waiting for the season to end, I now wish it hadnt. Heres hoping you all come back next year and do it all again. Ill be right here!"
