24.01.2022 Just like the sun, Christ is risen. We celebrated Jesus overcoming death and hopelessness with a dawn service taken by our friend Eric Smith. The birds sang as light came into the cool world. Peace to all.

24.01.2022 Okay. Here's the wish list for Vanuatu. Just drop the goods into the church before the end of March and they'll be put into the container which will be sent to Port Vila Rotary in April. Our 5 Ni-van fellows live in different places in Vanuatu and Rotary will ensure the goods are delivered to them safely. Next Sunday is "the boys" last Sunday with us, so we're having a shared lunch after the service to farewell them. All are very welcome.

23.01.2022 During January there will be a morning cuppa at the church on WEDNESDAYS the 11th, 18th and 25th.

20.01.2022 At our church's AGM on the 26th February there will be no election of Elders and Parish Councillors. These will take place at a congregational meeting on Sunday 15th October. Those standing will be asked to take on 3 or 5 year terms if at all possible. Present Elders and Parish Councillors are asked to extend their present terms till then if they can.

18.01.2022 Di Carson and Peter Dell outlined a joint project between Rotary, our church and the CWA to send a container of goods to Vanuatu which has been so devastated in the last couple of years by cyclones and drought. The 5 fellows from Vanuatu who have been worshipping with us for the last few months while they've been working here to bring income into their families back home have been advising what is needed, and their villages will benefit. There's a list of goods to donate on the church wall and there'll be a box in the church for donated goods. The congregation will also be asked if they want to contribute $2000 to the cost of shipping the container, total cost of which is $7000. If you want to donate personally let the church office know.

17.01.2022 There are three special things that happen at our church on the first Sunday of the month. We have communion when we remember that Jesus died, sacrificing his body and shedding his blood for his followers so they might have better access to God, his father, and ours. We bring groceries which are donated to the Baw Baw Combined Churches Food Relief which provides food for over 700 families a year who are finding it difficult to make ends meet. We also bring along the change we...'ve collected in our coin-a-day jars to go towards the Uniting Church's work in East Gippsland. Today Bruce reminded us that it's not only our words that reveal our values, nor is it our actions, but it's how we do things as we try to live the way Jesus showed us 2000 years ago. The catchphrase, "Don't tell me. show me" is worth thinking about. There was a notice from John Beanland in the sheet: On behalf of Dorothy I would like to thank all of our Church friends for their thoughts and prayers over recent times. Dorothy is now residing in Andrews House, Trafalgar - a really lovely place. Praise and thanks be to God. Advance notice for the Church fete: Saturday 8th April.

12.01.2022 Now the weeds have been cleared from Big John’s Bluebell Wood after a weeding party today the flowers are really standing up proudly. Meanwhile, Geoff, names by the kinder kids, stands watch over the church garden.

12.01.2022 Could all our church's organisations please have their reports to the office this week if at all possible? Electronic versions would be good. The church's email address is [email protected]. After this week the church office closes until the 17th January. The AGM is on Sunday 26th February.

11.01.2022 What's this? The cross is empty! His tomb is empty! JESUS IS RISEN. My God! THAT'S why! Jesus came back to life showing that death isn't the finality and that gives Jesus' followers permission to live, to really live, in the present because death does not have the final word. Fear has been replaced by joy. Are you a follower, a living, selflessly loving follower?

09.01.2022 This morning Bruce talked about seeing things differently, especially after the Spirit of God has healed us from our particular blindness where we have ignored reality. With Jesus as an example God enables us to see clearly and then live renewed by the Spirit.

07.01.2022 Good Friday. What's good about it? My God, why?

04.01.2022 Sad to say that one our stalwarts passed away last night. Ron Mason. Gone to be with Jesus after a lifetime of loving and dedicated service.
