25.01.2022 It's our pleasure and honour to use our expertise to provide a knowledgeable, unique perspective on animal care. Although very experienced in treating snake bites, our team enjoyed a refresher session led by Dr Stuart and nurse Kim on recognising and treating a snake bite. Our slithery friends are not out to cause trouble, but dogs and cats will often harrass a snake and get bitten as a result. A venomous snake bite is a life threatening emergency, and owners should always se...ek veterinary attention if your pet has been seen with a snake. Symptoms of a snake bite can vary according to the species of snake and the potency of their venom, but we encourage owners to look out for: Sudden collapse Lethargy or weakness Twitching Blood in the urine Vomiting and/or diarrhoea Drooling Dilated (enlarged) pupils. We advise all pet families to have an action plan if you see your pet with a snake, starting with calling us. At the Warrandyte Vet Clinic, we carry snake antivenom year-round to ensure we are prepared to treat your pet - however quick action by an owner greatly increases your pets chance of survival. For more information on snake bites, please contact Warrandyte Vet Clinic on 9844 3071.

23.01.2022 Have you lost a pet Corella? We have had a friendly Corella handed in! Seems very tame, likely to be a pet. No microchip found. Please contact the clinic if you believe you own this beautiful bird- proof of ownership required before handover.

22.01.2022 A friendly reminder to be mindful about snakes during the warmer months. Keeping yards tidy and the grass low will discourage snakes from entering your property, and keeping dogs on leads around areas such as the river will help prevent a dangerous snake bite.

19.01.2022 Lest we forget the soldiers and animals that served alongside them.

17.01.2022 Meet the team We are very excited to introduce our newest veterinarian, Dr Emma Buckley! Graduating in 2001 from the University of Melbourne, Dr Emma brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our team. In addition to her veterinary degree, her passion for cats has inspired her to complete further studies in feline medicine and ultrasonic imaging - aiding in the diagnosis of all medical conditions. With over 20 years experience, Dr Emma enjoys helping animals of all w...alks of life and strengthening the bond between clients and their pets. From welcoming a new pet to the family, to managing patients with multiple long-term illnesses, we know Dr Emma will support your pet throughout their entire life journey. Most memorable veterinary moment: Many years ago, Dr Emma met a cat who had many underlying medical conditions including chronic seizures. Despite her unfortunate circumstances, this cat had a gorgeous nature and Dr Emma could see she had a lot of love to give. After successfully convincing her family, Emma was blessed with a new furry family member, who is now known as Millie! Millie has shared her home and her heart with the Buckley family for many years now, and they have a beautiful bond that has fostered Emma’s love for cats. Outside of clinic life, Dr Emma shares her home with her beautiful young family, her pet cat Millie and even has some special feathered friends- a flock of curious chickens! In her spare time she enjoys gardening, running and travel!

16.01.2022 C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S to our very dear patient Pudding on your completion of 19 weeks of chemotherapy! Beautiful Pudding was sadly diagnosed with high grade Lymphoma, and has truly stolen the hearts of our nursing and veterinary staff alike. The resilience and bravery of both Pudding and his owner has truly been inspiring during this difficult time, and we are so proud to announce that he is now in remission! A very big THANK YOU to Dr Emma Buckley, Dr Laura Brockley (Advanced Vet Care oncologist) and our wonderful nursing team for all of your hard work.

12.01.2022 Another orthopaedic success story! Well done to our special patient Tuz the puggle, who had his ruptured cruciate ligament repaired yesterday. Tuz stayed in Warrandyte Vet Clinic's hospital overnight and went home happily this afternoon with his lovely owners. He certainly earned his certificate of bravery!

11.01.2022 We are very excited to introduce one of our stellar nurses, Izzy! Izzy joined our Warrandyte team in early 2021. Combining her love for animals and an interest in medicine, she is looking forward to commencing her Veterinary Nursing studies in 2021. She has cared for many animals since childhood including dogs, cats and turtles - so it is no surprise that her life’s work is now to look after your beloved animals! Izzy endeavours to provide our clients with the peace of mind ...that their pets specific needs will be met, and enjoys creating meaningful relationships with her patients and their guardians. There are many aspects of veterinary nursing that Izzy enjoys, but she has a passion for delivering extra special care to our critical care patients in hospital. Izzy’s dynamic combination of attention to detail and her caring approach to animals is invaluable to our patients recovering from surgery. It warms her heart to return patients home to their families, knowing she has played an instrumental part in their care and nursing them back to health. Izzy truly enjoys guiding our clients through the fun and challenges of pet ownership. Her passion for animal welfare and her kindhearted character has been a wonderful addition to our team!

07.01.2022 At Warrandyte Vet Clinic, we are passionate about our team's professional development and continued education. Today's Tuesday Training topic was all about E N D O S C O P Y! Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure, allowing your veterinarian to look within a body cavity or organ to gain diagnostic information. Gastrointestinal endoscopy represents the most common use in veterinary medicine, however endoscopes can be used to investigate multiple body systems. Small samples of tissue can be taken for evaluation with an endoscope, or it can even be utilized for foreign body retrieval.
