24.01.2022 Warrane School Carpark Firstly, thank you to each and every parent/carer during the drop-off and pick-up times. Your patience and cooperation has been amazing. As there is a large volume of cars entering and leaving the carpark during those times, to keep the traffic flowing, please park in a vacant spot and do not double park if you need to wait for your child.... Just a gentle reminder also to parents/carers to keep the disabled parking spaces free. We do have parents who need to use those spots. Thanks again for your consideration and support!!

21.01.2022 School Lunch Project Information for Parent Discussion Group A letter was sent home on Thursday, 29 October 2020 inviting parents/guardians whose children have been having hot lunches made by the school canteen staff, to participate in a Parent Discussion Group. Participation is voluntary, however, this feedback (which is confidential and will not impact on your child’s participation of the program) will be valuable in understanding the impact the lunch program has had on s...tudents and parents/guardians. Everything that is said during the discuss will be audio-recorded, but will remain confidential and will not be spoken about outside of this group. The school rules around social distancing for COVID-19 will be followed and a $10 canteen voucher will be provided as a thank you for your participation. The Group Discussion will take place at the school on Thursday, 5th November during drop off and pick up. The project team includes: Laura Cini, Julie Dunbabin and Tina Ingram from the Tasmanian School Canteen Association, Dr Kylie Smith from Menzies Research Institute, University of Tasmania and Claire Galloway and Natasha Meerding from Public Health Serv ices, Department of Health. Please call into the office or contact on 6244 1747 to register your interest to participate and fill in a consent form. Please consider taking part in this Parent Discussion Group. The session will take about 10-15 minutes only. Your comments, positive or negative will be valuable in moving forward with the project

21.01.2022 Judging well under way in the grade 6 curry challenge.

21.01.2022 Dear Parents / Guardians The following letter has been received from Rob Greenwood, Senior Music Programs Officer: Combined Primary Schools Band Program... Cancellation of Annual Year 6 Band Tours I am writing to inform you that sadly, due to the ongoing restrictions around social distancing this year’s planned Year 6 Band Tours will be cancelled. The Tours were planned for August but, unfortunately, without the possibility of rehearsing each band at the after school rehearsals we just can’t prepare for this online. I certainly would not want to put the conductors, students and teachers involved under any unnecessary pressure by running the Tours and, as always, we’d want the Band Tour performances to be a very positive experience for all. Being underprepared would be a pretty negative experience for everyone. Following the Guidelines of the Tasmanian State Government’s COVID-19 Roadmap in regard to social distancing restrictions being eased by 13 July to between 50-100 people at indoor and outdoor gatherings as well as day trips and camping allowed for school groups we will also need to cancel all after school rehearsals up to at least this date. I will keep you informed as to when our after school band rehearsals can commence. Once again I would like to thank you all for your wonderful and continued support of the Combined Primary Schools Band Program especially during the challenging times we are currently facing. Thank you all so much for your understanding. Kind regards Rob Greenwood Senior Music Programs Officer

Dear Parents/Carers As advised last week, we are holding our first assembly on Wednesday, 26 August at 2.00 pm. We have been given a number of strict guidelines that we must follow to keep everyone safe. It is no longer necessary to socially distance children, however, visitors and staff must adhere to the 1.5 distancing rules. We are also restricted to the number of visitors allowed and forms for contact tracing must also be filled in. Please click on the link below and fill in your details if you would like to attend the Assembly. Access to the form will close on Tuesday at 5.00 pm. If you do not have internet access, a printed copy will be available in the office. A separate form is required to be filled out for each member of the family group attending, including children. https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx It is important to understand that this is our first Assembly since the pandemic and therefore an evolving plan, so I ask for your patience and understanding. Numbers allowed will be dependent on family configurations. Family groups can sit together, but will be socially distanced from other family groups. The number of family groups applying to attend will determine the number of parents/visitors we can allow into the hall. The classes presenting at the Assembly are 5/6H, 5/6A and Grade 4. I understand how eager parents/carers will be to attend the Assembly, however, as numbers permitted will be limited, may I gently ask that if you do not have a student in one of the presenting grades, you consider not attending, allowing for those parents/carers who do have a student in a grade presenting, the first opportunity to attend. I am sure that over the coming weeks, our Assembly routines will become smoother and more normal as we navigate our way through this pandemic. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact the office on 6244 1747. Kind regards Sarah Hoban Principal
