23.01.2022 Exciting news! The DA have submitted a Private Members Bill to make it easier for South Africans living abroad to vote. With this bill they've requested provi...sions for the following: All South African citizens to be permitted to register to vote on production of a valid ID document only. The day designated for overseas casting of votes to necessarily fall on a weekend. Voting stations overseas to not be limited to consulates, embassies or high commissions, allowing for more remote voters to be able to vote without travelling great distances. Vote counting procedures to properly account for differences in time zones when considering deadlines. Voters ordinarily based overseas to be provided with provincial ballots as well as national ballots. Make sure you're registered to vote so you don't miss this opportunity to make your voice heard in 2019!

A new Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) with the Greater South Coast region of Victoria (Warrnambool City Council, Corangamite Shire Council, Moyne Shire Council, Colac Otway Shire Council, Glenelg Shire Council, Southern Grampians Shire Council) and a second DAMA with the Northern Territory - Australia's Outback will open up greater opportunities for businesses, and address labour demands in areas where no Australian workers are available over the next few years.
