23.01.2022 Join Dick and Ruth Carney, in conversation with writer Sam Paine about their memoir, ‘A Little Piece of Heaven’. Saturday 16 November 2019 at 10am at the Kookab...urra Kiosk. Dick Carney was a young Aboriginal shearer working the sheds of western NSW when he fell in love with a country girl named Ruth. Together they made a home, navigated hard times and triumphs, and grew into respected elders of the Narromine community. Their love is an inspiration and their story is a rare glimpse of mid-century bush life and Indigenous history. Books will be on sale and morning tea will be available to purchase.
