20.01.2022 Some Monday food for thought

20.01.2022 Posted on behalf of Kevin Proudlove Hi everyone, we're so thrilled that Swim for Proudie to Rotto is happening again this year. Our family can't be more grateful to Harry Garland for going around again for another year.... Harry along with Crissa, Colleen, Andrew, Ella & Adelaide are most wonderful family we have had the pleasure to meet, one family continuously reaching out to another family that needs help. Again, we can't thank you all with your extended family enough. We've been amazed & humbled recently to learn there are 54 swimmers swimming to help raise much needed funds for Wazza. Our family are so grateful & thankful from the bottom of our hearts. We hope to meet all of you amazing souls after the swim at Rotto. Behind every swimmer there is also an equally valuable support crew who also are giving up time & effort to help Wazz's cause, thank you so very much everyone. Praying for perfect conditions for all concerned. We also would like to take this opportunity to thank our care company, Myplace Foundation, who have supported Trish & I to care for Waz at home the last five years. We have been lucky enough to have an awesome team to help us. Wazza has recently trialled a new communication device called a neuro node which also has eye gaze that can pick up on what he can see. He has shown promise with this device. His speech pathologist is very excited & recommends the purchase of one. This technology is expensive so we are very grateful for any assistance through the Foundation.

12.01.2022 Imagine sitting for an extended period of time. How many times would you change position or rearrange yourself to get comfortable? Now imagine not being able to do that for yourself, what are the elements of the chair that would make you more comfortable? Now imagine if you couldnt communicate what would make you more comfortable. Its hard to imagine right?... The Proudloves have an incredible hand selected team to help understand and navigate Warricks (and the familys) requirements and needs as they change from time to time. Warricks wheelchair is just one of the elements that has been recently under review so we thought wed share it with you. A little snippet from the Proudloves: "The Proudloves & Wazzs wonderful carers are returning back to normal day life given the shake-up of COVID19. We are now back to trialing electric wheelchairs, there are quite a few factors with selecting the chair for Warricks comfort & pressure care. This process also involves Warricks Physiotherapist & Occupational Therapist to get his prescription cushion seating to the selected wheel chair. These are the 2 latest chairs to be trialled." - Kevin Proudlove.
