19.01.2022 Today is Early Childhood Educators Day! This day recognises and celebrates the work of Australias educators in early learning centres (long day care centre based), kindergarten/preschool services, family day care, occasional care and Outside School Hours Care (OSHC), for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care. Its a chance to say thank you to Australias early childhood educators on a very personal level by service operators, families and their children, as well as collectively at the national level. Have a great day everyone.

18.01.2022 The Search for a Quality Child Care Centre Warriewood Child Care goes above and beyond expectations to deliver an exceptional level of care and early learning experience for your child. We would like to share with parents key points when looking for childcare in your local area. Centre Location, Value & Cleanliness... Make a list of all of the child care Centres in your local area, and contact each of them to obtain their annual fees and any additional costs, which might include catering, special events or even waiting list or bond fees. Visit each service to get a feel and inspect the cleanliness of the environment. It is important to find out what health and safety standards are in place to protect your child. Educator Training, Qualifications and Staffing Levels Considering the training and education level of the staff is a good place to start when comparing child care services. Does the Centre have a good mix of experienced senior child care educators as well as the energy and enthusiasm of trained newcomers to the industry? The National Quality Framework sets minimum standard requirements for early childhood teaching qualifications. You should also ask about the educator to child ratio to understand how many children will be in the group, and how many educators will be looking after them. Menus and Allergy Awareness Programs Healthy menus equal healthy minds. Look at the Centre menu and ask if the service is involved in any initiatives such as Munch and Move. As children take on the big step of attending child care, its important they are enjoying healthy meals that keep their energy levels steady. Food allergies are also an increasing concern for parents of young children, so its important to have educated kitchen personnel who understand food allergies and have in place a management plan for food allergies and anaphylaxis. Stimulating Curriculum Programs The Early Years Learning Framework guides childcare providers on the principles, practices, and outcomes that support and enhance early learning from birth to age five, and the transition period into school. These programs should encourage children to learn, interact and develop through child-centered play and learning activities, and all Centres have their own unique differences. Ask about the program inclusions to learn more, and choose a program that reflects your family values and the interests, needs, and personality of your child.

18.01.2022 Wow everyone look at this offer! If you are interested in enrolling for 2019 we invite you to contact us to organise a visit to our wonderful service. Please call 02 99975411

17.01.2022 Warriewood Child Care - a point of difference - why visit US!? We are proud to be the only centre on the Northern Beaches with SIX University Trained Early Childhood Qualified Teachers and the balance Diploma Trained Educators. Our Preschool Curriculum is an outstanding program that prepares children for the transition into Kindergarten. Our hours are longer than the traditional preschool however this does not mean that our curriculum is any different - in actual fact it i...s provided for a longer period throughout the day with more qualified trained staff than typical preschools. The Centres Infant, Toddler & Preschool curriculum are based on National Quality Standards The Early Years Learning Framework. The Early Years Learning Framework describes the principles, practice and outcomes essential to support and enhance young childrens learning from birth to five years of age, as well as their transition to school. The Framework has a strong emphasis on play-based learning as play is the best vehicle for young childrens learning providing the most appropriate stimulus for brain development. The Framework also recognises the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional development. If you have any questions in relation to our staffing or education please feel free to speak with Bronwyn on 99975411 or come and speak with me in person at 12 Jubilee Avenue (Cnr Daydream St), Warriewood NSW 2102. 17.01.2022 A snippet of what Warriewood Child Care has planned for 2019 We have some great things planned for 2019 with Yoga classes, Language (French) classes plus we are proud to announce our recent partnership with Mandy dos Santos, child nutrition expert, and author of At My Family Table. Mandy will be visiting Warriewood Child Care once a month to present cooking classes with the children in the 3 5 years age groups. She will also be sharing with our families and educators re...sources in the form of stories, videos, books, workshops, cooking classes, recipes, childcare menus, and informative and interactive posts. Mandy dos Santos is tertiary qualified nutritionist and food scientist and has worked in a variety of roles in the food industry over the last 13 years. From inspecting mangoes and garlic to trialling different coating systems for chicken products to cooking with indigenous pre-schoolers. She simply loves food and is passionate about the next generation and nurturing their love of food. She believes that food education is integral to not only the nutrition of society but the connection of the community and the understanding and respect for the environment. Little People Nutrition was created by Mandy over 6 years ago as an avenue to explore family and paediatric nutrition in more depth. This led to Mandy to create a platform with a mission of nurturing the love of food in children, at home and at school. Her goal at Little People Nutrition is to create resources for educators and parents which empower and inspire. To enhance their know-how and understanding of where food comes from, how it is raised and grown, and how to cook it. 12.01.2022 NATIONAL RECYCLING WEEK - Monday 12 to Sunday 18 November 2018 Recycling aids in the fight against global warming by reducing the amount of new materials we use to sustain our lifestyle Australians are willing recyclers with 90% of us agreeing that it is the right thing to do. However, recycling is a constantly evolving industry, with new initiatives and technologies in continual development which can lead to confusion about what can and cant be recycled. ... At Warriewood Child Care children are introduced to recycling. Younger children use their senses to investigate different types of paper and cardboard, working to sort the paper and cardboard based on size, weight and texture. Older children are invited to consider what the word recycling means, and think about how the recyclable objects that go into the recycling bin can be turned into new items that we need or want. They are then invited to find new ways to use recyclable objects in craft activities. These activity are designed to help connect children to the wonders of the natural world through sensory and play-based learning. If you and your child would like to come and visit and explore our sustainable environment please give us a call to organise a visit.

09.01.2022 FLEXIBLE CHILD CARE OPTIONS WE CARE ABOUT OUR FAMILIES We have introduced a flexible option to reduce parents out-of-pocket costs and to help you get the most out of the governments new subsidy.... Warriewood Child Care allows you to choose from six-hour, eight-hour, 10-hour or all-day sessions for your children. That means you dont have to pay for hours of care you are not using, you can select a shorter day and stretch your subsidy hours. At most child care centres, you pay for a full day of care no matter what time you drop your children off or pick them up. If a service for example is open from 6.30am until 6.30pm (Warriewood Child Cares operating hours) and your children are in care full-time, you will be paying for 120 hours of care per fortnight above the maximum 100 subsidise hours. At Warriewood Child Care you can select six, eight, or 10-hour sessions, meaning you will stay within your hourly allocation (just keep an eye on your cap). Another good way to optimise your Child Care Subsidy is to ensure you have put in all your recognised activity in your claim. In addition to paid work, you can include any approved study courses that you are participating in, time spent working for a family business in an unpaid role, time spent looking for employment or setting up a new business as well as any volunteer work you are involved in. You can also add in the time it takes for you to travel from childcare to work and vice versa, as well as any work you do on weekends. The hours of subsidised care you receive will be determined by the parent with the lowest hours of activity. The more activity you are involved in; the more hours of subsided care you will be able to claim. If your activity hours are low, its a good incentive to start that training course you have been thinking about or to get more involved with the local community Warriewood Child Care would love you to volunteer in our service. For all children attending Kindergarten in the following year your child is entitled to 36 hours per fortnight as long as you are entitled to the Child Care Subsidy therefore allowing your child to participate in a preschool program before entering Kindergarten. If you are after a service that offers high quality care and education and that will help your subsidy stretch further, please contact Bronwyn or Katie on 02 99975411. The following session times are available: 6.30am 2.30pm (8hr session) 8am 4pm (8hr session) 8.30 4.30 (8hr session) 9 3 (6hr session) 9 5 (8hr session) 7 5 (10hr session) Please note: you must come within these times. You cannot sign in earlier or leave later under these flexible arrangements. If you do then your hours will revert back to the full-session of 12-hour day.
