05.01.2022 Last Saturday night we held a dinner at the fire-station, where our Brigade members and families could relax, support and reflect with each-other on what occurred between September and February. We extend a massive thank you to East Blaxland Butchery, Murrays Porters Liquor Warrimoo and you, our local community, for your massive gestures of generosity towards donations for dinner supplies. The generosity of the community is what makes living in the Blue Mountains so special,... its recognised and appreciated so very much by the Brigade. Like many brigades across Australia, we saw communities face danger, be affected or severely impacted by fire during that period of time. Our members saw it whilst being on a truck protecting properties and blacking out firegrounds, or when they were at the fire-station organising crews + sorting donated supplies and watching the news reports coming in. The communities affected are still in our thoughts whilst they continue on the road of recovery.

It was great to see you come up to the fire-station last Wednesday evening to find out whats happening around us and to discuss what you and your family will do if fire threatens you. We would like to make a special mention to My Sisters Keeper who, at the start of this month, provided us with 40 face masks for our members to use whilst on the fire-ground. The masks have been crowd-funded by members of the community and already been in use by crews on the fireground. Due to the large amounts of donations received last month, food and supplies are still in surplus and being put to good use by our crews. Well put a message out if we need anything.
