21.01.2022 Back to Archery Saturday 21st November 2020 It was a great turnout on Saturday 21st November for the Back to Archery tournament. It was also good to see some of our newer members enter and give it a go. A big THANK YOU to Kristian for once again officiating and guiding our newer members through the equipment inspection, including the Do’s and Don’t for shooting in a tournament. it was greatly appreciated.... Several members saw their Handicap Ratings change also, which was great to see. This was also an opportunity for members to obtain a Classification. Well done to Maggie Barr-Jones for achieving her White Classification and Paul Pascall for obtaining his Black Classification.

15.01.2022 SEVERE TO EXTREME HEATWAVE - #NSW An intense November heatwave is expected to affect large parts of the state for the last week of the month and persist int...o early December as a slow moving and very hot air mass pools over the region. Temperatures are expected to be more typical of a mid-summer heatwave rather than late spring, with the temperature expected to soar into the mid to high 40s across some inland areas over consecutive days. Western parts of NSW are expected to scorch, with towns such as #Bourke, #Wilcannia, #Walgett and #WhiteCliffs likely to see at least 5-6 consecutive days of 40+ temperatures and some locations possibly longer. Bourke may reach up to 46 on Sunday and Tuesday. Whilst some may think these temperatures over inland areas are typical, for this time of year they are very unusual (generally occurring in January and February), with only November 2009 and 2014 seeing similar heat. The slopes, ranges and eastern plains (#Dubbo, #Moree, #Tamworth etc) will feel the worst of the heat a little later, with the hottest airmass affecting these regions from the weekend and into early December, with temperatures into the high 30s and low to mid 40s. Further east will be spared the worst heat, with weak southerly changes preventing heat from persisting over consecutive days. #Sydney will see it’s hottest days this weekend reaching the mid 30s in the city, and up to 42 in the west. The hot airmass is expected to break down over the east of the country within the first week of December due to a cold front and an increase of moisture, showers and storms. Register now to receive localised alerts. www.nswincidentalerts.com - EWN

15.01.2022 Club Presentation Day & Shoot - Saturday 19th December 2020 Due to COVID there are still some restrictions on numbers of guests clubs can have in relation to catering for Presentation Nights, therefore, the Committee has come up with a solution for holding our Club Presentation for 2020, which we feel you will enjoy. The Club Presentation Day will be held at the club on Saturday 19th December. We will also hold the Wayne Jarrett Memorial Shoot, followed by lunch / presentati...ons and then host a Skins Tournament. There will be spot prizes held also throughout the day and a pot of gold for the winners. Family members have the option of joining in also, and for catering purposes we would still need to know how many members and family members will attend. Please register for this event so that we know numbers for catering. https://eventdesq.sportstg.com/index.cfm

11.01.2022 Spotlight on Our New Members.... While some of our newer members can't reach 40m yet (having been in the club for only a few weeks), they shot the Newcastle Round which is 90 arrows @ 20m (Demian , Greg and Trent), with the others shooting the Ricker Treat which is 90 arrows @ 15m (David, Richard and Hazel). Richard couldn’t wipe the smile off his face after shooting his first All Gold at 15m and the fact that he didn't have to calculated his score manually. It was calcula...ted for him by the iScored.Today app! Well done everyone, and welcome to Warringah Archers!
