24.01.2022 It's here! Get your skates on and get on down to Weldon Oval for an awesome day of Frankies Quarter Final Pink Stumps Day Cricket! Set up is underway, the boys are getting their pink on, the burgers will be delicious, the beer and champagne will be cold - only thing missing is you. See you at Weldon today in your pink! Go the Mighty MIGs!

24.01.2022 Warringah’s favourite red bearded pirate was once a bunny to a New Zealand test bowler! Scott Ryan has a chat in today’s tale.

23.01.2022 A preview to our round 5 match up against Lindfield & UNSW would see the Green Men out to pursue more points. In the 2019 matches, 1sts won by 12 runs, 2nds winning by 39 runs, 3rds won by 30 runs, 4ths won by an innings and 58 runs, and 5ths going down by a margin not worth promoting in this post. As for our Masters men, we didn't have the pleasure of matching up against Castle Hill RSL, but our Classics Chaps defeated Ku-ring-gai by 7 wickets. Plenty on the line this round boys. Let's switch on and go MIGs!

23.01.2022 Our DYRSL Scoreboard reveals an overall positive weekend of MIG cricket, with plenty of hard fought wins against quality opposition, but not all results going the way we would have liked. Our Round 4 matches against Lane Cove and Randwick-Petersham saw us come out on top in 3 of the 5 matches. Unfortunately, despite a great fightback, our 1sts didn't have enough runs on the board to defend, despite 4 poles to our 1st grade leggy, Greenland. Our 3rd grade side, privileged to b...e skipped by Bourkey in Reg's absence, couldn't reel in the 254 required for the win. All our other grades got up against the Cove. Particularly impressive was the recovery in their batting innings from our 2nd Grade side, and the fight shown by 4th Grade to pull off a back and forth match. Also good to see was 5th Grade's win to split their matches against the two Randwick-Petersham sides. There were some outstanding performances to be highlighted later this week in the MIG Team of the Week. Check your emails Tuesday for the MIG media round wrap and a preview to Round 5's fixtures. Well done MIGs. See more

22.01.2022 Before our Round 4 clash with Lane Cove & Randwick-Petersham commences, we salute our outstanding ABC Bullion Team of the Round from Round 3 vs. Pennant Hills & Sydney Uni. Special mention this week, you would think goes to Aarka Saha once more, because, well making a ton on first grade debut is the stuff dreams are made of. However, we reckon the boys probably would have gone onto to win that match, even without Aarka's runs. So this week it is in fact Liam Dinan who is our ...golden CHUBBS player of the round. He helped 3rd grade recover their innings and made 55*, then backed it up with 2/17 with the ball. We reckon without his efforts, our 3rd grade side might not have got over the line against Pennant Hills. Well done Liam! As for our little bit of fun each week, our 'Passenger of the Round' rolls on - and it's Lachie Molyneux. Lachie was twice nominated for the 'honour', once by his skip and again by HIMSELF. More to come about this effort. We hope these MIGs continue to perform, and that we see some new faces after this weekend's matches. Go hard MIGs! Ps. Sorry Barney, we'll sort that photo out mate. 21.01.2022 Call it an early Christmas present. All the MIG highlights from rounds 1-8 before the Christmas break. This video includes some things you may have missed, the latest milestones for a few superstars, and updates for each team including results summary, leading run scorer and wicket taker, tables and some never before seen video footage of our MIGs in action. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/-MqSpgMRSS0

18.01.2022 A 50-50 round achieved by our OMIGs, but it wasn't far off a perfect round from them. The Classics chaps didn't get the result they wanted but put up a good fight, nearly pulling off the "impossible" (as it were described). They went down to rivals Lindfield by just 4 runs. One week later though, the Masters men bounced back with a solid win over their cross-town opposition, Strathfield. Barnett in smashing form with two forced retires and a 37 to boot. Read the rest of the highlights in today's Round Wrap (out now).

18.01.2022 AGM 7pm this Tuesday at the Weldon clubhouse.... Will Kanye be voted in as the new president of Warringah??? You’ll just have to come and see!

17.01.2022 Welcome back to cricket post-lockdown MIGs! This round's announcement is a two part one - the first part announces Metro Cup's Saturday match and Master's Sunday match for THIS weekend, the second part (coming next week) announces Grades 1-4 Saturday matches and Classic's Sunday match for NEXT weekend. - Metro Cup vs. Blacktown, away @ Whalan Reserve #2 - Masters vs. Mosman, home @ Weldon Oval Good luck MIGs!

16.01.2022 We had to pause the countdown at 3 days to go, with Jez superstarring in that mini video. But the countdown resumes with just 2 days separating us and some pink stumps action. Today's MIP superstar is rising to MIG fame. If he's not scoring runs with the bat, he's scoring them in the field...few can argue with the number of runs this bloke saves because of how quick he moves, those bucket like hands, and his rocket arm. He'll be playing his heart out on Sunday in a match that promotes and supports the fight against breast cancer. Thanks to all that have donated on our fundraising page . 15.01.2022 This season we are playing our way this Pink Stumps Day to support families experiencing breast cancer! Sunday 31 January is our Pink Stumps Day! We will be supporting our Frankies boys in their last round game, and SUPPORT is what the day is all about. McGrath Breast Care Nurses SUPPORT families by bringing peace of mind through expert knowledge, personal care, and genuine compassion. They can help create time in their life not defined by breast cancer. ... That's why we would love your support in PINKING UP and fundraising to help place specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses, wherever they're needed. Together, the MIGs, sorry...MIPs(!) can make a difference. 13.01.2022 Check this out! Who are these amazing clubmen? You'll have to come to the ground to find out!

13.01.2022 Don't let the weather fool you, tomorrow's forecast is clear. You know what else is clear? How awesome the skip is of our Frankies Quarter Final team! He's a MIP superstar of the highest order - as all leg-spinning all rounders are :) He'll be leading WCC on Sunday in a match that not only promotes and supports the fight against breast cancer, but is also a knock out match. Go MIGs! Thanks to all that have donated on our fundraising page . 12.01.2022 A Monday DYRSL scoreboard update! Hope this boosts your Monday just a little bit. Yesterday saw the conclusion of the first round of matches for our OMIGs, our Masters and Classics men. Unfortunately the curtain raiser match, the Masters game (1 Nov), was called off on account of rain. As for our Classics men one week later, well the (un)luck of the draw gave them the Sri Lankan Lions first up - a tough first match for the OMIGs. There were some bright performances and with some new blood in the side, we're looking forward to seeing some quality cricket from them yet!

11.01.2022 It’s the Abhijeet Virdi show! Scoring 715 runs at an average of 47.67 with a top score of Arbi takes out not one but 4! Major awards! Well done mate #MiG #runmachine #whataplayer #rbt @ Warringah Cricket Club

10.01.2022 Welcome Back MIGs! Whilst COVID halted our charge for four of our five grades at the semi finals stage in the 2019-2020 season, it didn't dampen the spirits of our committee. We have been busy planning and getting things sorted for a cracker of a 2020-2021 season, and it all begins with the new bloods and pathways players meeting last year's 4th and 5th grade teams for a week of trials before the main grades return the following week. I have it on good authority that the Mast...ers (over 40s) and Classics (over 50s) boys have been hard at training since May!! So you young fellas have already got a point to prove. All the info you need is on the pic!

08.01.2022 Last round one our favourite and longest serving clubmen, Tim Bourke, returned to the playing field and smashed an entertaining (and disheartening for Penno) 36 off 19 rocks. But in the process he collected his 4000th run as a man in green!!! Well done Bourkey. Looking at the scorebook, his 4000th run was a hard run two trying to push the team total up. This is typical of Bourkey, a hard worker and a real man for the team. Congrats Bourkey. Hope you got more in you mate!

06.01.2022 COVID-19 SAFETY - "UNFIT TO TRAIN" This Sunday are the trials for Warringah Cricket Club, and the following week we welcome back players from all grades for the first training session of the year. So we have to talk about COVID safety! Season 2020/21 will be very different to normal. There are protocols we must follow in order to play cricket safely this year. If we don't follow these closely, we jeopardise our chance to play cricket this season. The most important protoco...l being that you must not come to training if you are unwell or may have been exposed to COVID-19. DO NOT TRAIN IF... Please see the image below for a list of things that will prevent you from training. We all have to play our part in keeping each other safe and healthy. We all need to be conscious of hygiene, distancing and the conditions listed. We thank the WCC Committee for the mountain of work that has gone into getting us onto the park so we can do what we love most, which is play cricket!

06.01.2022 MIGs and friends of MIGs - lend me your ears! The week that follows the trials of the new bloods, pathways players and last year's 4th and 5th grade teams (Sunday 13th of September), we welcome back all grades for pre-season training. We are lucky to Gareth Newman, a.k.a. Coach Gaz, back on deck as MIG Club Coach to guide us to glory. There is more to him than his Santa-esque appearance and Curtly Ambrose-like stare. His skills, wisdom and presence will be at your service all... season round. Thanks in advance for the great work you do Gaz. MIGs...Gaz will be watching. All the info you need is on the graphic below. Please reach out to any of the contacts listed at the bottom of this email if you have any questions about trials, our Club or anything else cricket related. Stay tuned for more information about the season ahead, including how we will be managing the challenges that COVID cricket presents, as well as announcements about your MIG committee, season fixtures and important events coming up.

05.01.2022 The cricket community is a family that welcomes one and all

05.01.2022 We lament over the cancellation of the Christmas round. We won't have the pleasure of crushing Auburn and Sydney Uni Gold this year. However, we can celebrate last week's ABC Bullion Team of the Round. In Round 7 against Burwood as well as our opening matches in the Frank Gray Shield there were some outstanding performances. You may look at the image and be like "well this bloke's made a mistake, he's put Priesty in there twice". That is no mistake. Matt Priest's inclusions w...ere from two separate performances separated by a few hours sleep - 3/25 on Saturday and 3/27 on Sunday, including very nearly taking a hattrick. So Priesty earns our golden CHUBBS player of the round for the final round before the Christmas break. As for our little bit of fun each week, our 'Passenger of the Round', and it's Roy "I'm the cool teacher now" Outred. He doesn't get it for his duck against Burwood, because frankly he wasn't the only one who Burwood did that to. He also doesn't get the passenger nod because he batted BELOW Jeremy Nicholson, although that was almost enough. Roy receives the passenger nod because he got out with Jeremy on 1 not out at the other end. I mean, who doesn't love watching Jez bat? For the spectators, watching Roy get out with Jez at the non-striker's is akin to India's fans when Rahane ran out Kohli. Passenger-like stuff! Until Round 9 after the Christmas break, stay safe everybody! Go hard MIGs! See more

05.01.2022 Before our Round 2 clash with Roseville & Randwick-Petersham commences, we salute our outstanding ABC Bullion Team of the Round from Round 1 vs Epping & Gordon. Special mention to Harry Kantor-Smith who is our golden CHUBBS player of the round, being the only MIG to notch 50 in a rain affected round in difficult playing conditons, winning the match for our 3rd grade side. Great work Haz! More to come about our 'Passenger of the Round' - a little bit of fun, and thanks to Richo for agreeing to be our first guinea pig in this. Let's hope this Team of the Round can perform even better today, and that we see some new faces after this weekend's matches. Go hard MIGs!

03.01.2022 Our DYRSL Scoreboard reavels another positive weekend continuing our bright start by the MIGs. Our Round 2 matches against Roseville (and Randwick-Petersham) saw us come out on top in 3 of the 5 matches. Unfortunately, despite a few starts, our 1sts never got going in their pursuit of 244. We're backing them to bounce back stronger in Round 3 after a tough start this season. Our Metro side looked down and out defending just 66, but they pushed Randwick-Petersham all the way, losing by just 2 wickets. All our other grades got up against the Roses, with some outstanding performances to be highlighted later this week in the MIG Team of the Week. Check your emails Tuesday for the MIG media round wrap and a preview to Round 3's fixtures. Well done MIGs.

03.01.2022 Read it and weap...well John might weap, the rest of us will sit back and enjoy the show!

03.01.2022 After last night's AGM, it is a pleasure and privilege to announce Brad Lewis as WCC Club President. This is his second 3 peat as prez, emulating MJ with 3 in a row, 2 years off and backing it up with a second 3-for. That's why he's the G.O.A.P (Greatest Of All Prezzes). He's pictured here with WCC lifer, Brucey, who last night spoke about the MIG soul and spirit - something us MIGs will be living out this season and Brad has done in every year he's pulled on the MIG kit. Stay tuned for an exciting video series starring our beloved Prez. Thanks Brad, looking forward to a mighty MIG season ahead.
