24.01.2022 Some more gold from COVID times. . An opportunity to experience the magic of Shamanic Cacao in an online Sacred Chocolate and Despacho Ceremony with my teacher Jemmita and Peru elders Maestro Sebastian and Percy. Whilst this is a free offering, if you are so called, you may make a donation to go to the Andean communities in need. . I'm so excited for this opportunity to sit in ceremony not just with my beloved teacher, but her teachers, whom we would need to travel to Peru t...o experience. Which I will do and we all should one day. But not today. . Ceremony is on Monday 11/1/21. 11am Amsterdam time which is 8pm QLD time. There is a link to the time zone converter in the sign up if you are unsure. . Link in bio or @anchoringthelight bio. See more

22.01.2022 I can't remember a time I didn't look at old houses with intrigue and excitement. As to what they were and what they could be. The stories and memories that have come and the potential to create new ones. The appreciation for the things that work and the things that aren't so useful and a bit quirky. The admiration for craftsmanship and ingenuity at a time where it wasn't a day of demo and a trip to Bunnings and KMart for a perfect pinterest update over the weekend. . When... Dave and I were getting to know each other about 12 years ago, I told him I had to marry someone who was taller than me (tick) and could build me things because I wanted to renovate houses. He wanted to become a carpenter (after basketball of course). He let the basketball chapter go and got a trade as an electrician which has seen him become the youngest project manager/site foreman (for electrical) on many jobs including the largest this arm of the company has completed - the North Queensland Stadium. I have never met anyone who is more dedicated to his commitments and am so proud of him. Although I nicknamed the project his mistress because I barely saw him for over two years. . Last week we settled on our first investment property. House one. Of many. . This is not house "flipping". It is much more than that. It is house alchemy. A term inspired by my dear friend and mentor @spiritedseeker . Transmutation and transformation. A labour of love because we want to honour and save what we can whilst adding and updating to create spaces where people live and love. . Financially, this could have been a possibility a long time ago. But it wasn't the right way for us. And if I'm being honest (which is kind of my thing) we have taken a step that means we are earning less income for a period of time and less security. . But that's ok because we have done plenty of inner work to trust ourselves and our support network. To those who have supported us and continue to do so thank you, thank you, thank you. You know who you are and have changed our lives (and others through the ripple effect) forever. . Right now what is valuable to us is so much more than just money. The joy, the connection, the time, the freedom, the lifestyle, the accomplishments. . We have no doubt we will make mistakes and encounter some stress, but we will do it. We will learn and grow. . Be ready for reno spam. See more

22.01.2022 My kind of shoot. No plan, no make up, in the elements surrounded by animals. Check out Josie’s page for lots of stunning pics.

22.01.2022 I can only imagine ceremonial grade cacao would have similar effects. Another layer of love for this heart elixir.

20.01.2022 Some us slept through the clock striking midnight and awoke in the softer, quiet, powerful time before dawn. Something I've always loved about New Years Day. There is a palpable stillness in the air as the parties have fizzled and many made it home. In NQ, generally seeking the hum of the air conditioner and dark blinds to combat the feeling of lateness so early and reprieve from the humidity. Even when I worked in the nightclubs and it was generally our biggest, latest n...ight, taking time as the sun rose, the quiet roads and enjoying breakfast before bed was a reward (disclaimer - don't drink and drive, I never did, but just don't). . I got up in the dark and made cacao, listened to the rain and dried the deck, cleansed the space and invited in allies. I welcomed in an intimate group of women to my home - as I refer to it Warrior Heart HQ. Amongst the rain, birds, butterflies, trees and under the watch of a misty Mt Stuart we moved our bodies as the sun rose with classical sun salutations - focus on heart opening. They enjoyed a light brekky of fruit, nuts and coconut yogurt while I set up for ceremony. . Ixcacao, the goddess connected us to gratitude, the elements and ourselves as I led them through a journey to feel into what the possibilities are for them, what their soul is calling for and tools to keep coming back and checking in with this. My newly acquired medicine drum from @shamanicearthmedicine called to be played, and it was integrated with a short sound bowl relaxation and a blessing to stay open after journalling, cards and sharing of knowledge from the Andean ancestors. . I put this event on my list at the beginning of 2020, it came to me on NYD as my love and I had a morning swim in the clearest of waters (unusual for Townsville, particularly this time of year). It was always to be outside. I have been working on my own intentions with my firecracker mentor @spiritedseeker and just days before I had written in relation to our home "family come to stay with us, friends and community come to share in food, laughter and ceremony". The perfect collision. . Welcome 2021 . See more

18.01.2022 Join us Sunday morning for some movement medicine in the sunshine.

18.01.2022 I struggled to be still in my Yin practice yesterday. But I did it. I felt better afterward. I realised I need to approach it like we approach everything in yoga - like a witness observing. Rather than a teacher trying to think of all the options. Even if I need to write a quick note so I don't forget. . Each practice with beginners' mind, open to what is on offer and free from the attachment of expectations. . I find this easier in Knoff or Ashtanga practice when there ...is so much movement, engagement and awareness but a different challenge in Yin, particularly when I practice before I teach a sequence. Same concept, completely different way to learn. Balance. . Which style do you need more practice to still your mind body or body mind? See more

17.01.2022 "Were we able to remain always in the heart, we would be constantly breathless, in a fit of appreciation and awe so great, truly, there would not be even a slither of emptiness through which fear could enter." Alana Fairchild - the Rumi Oracle Deck. . New Year's Day was very much about connecting with others, through my event, catch up with family and friends. The next day was all about family as we celebrated my niece's birthday. The following day was "our" NYD. I took m...yself through ceremony. I pulled out the words I had written of all the things I wanted to feel more of in 2020, I sat and flipped through my diary and celebrated everything that had happened and compared that to the intentions and goals we had discussed at the start of the year. I did this with curiosity, compassion and joy. I set intentions every moon cycle that are ever evolving and whilst I referred back to these I hadn't for a while. One of the things I have learnt and keep learning through my shamanic apprenticeship is that I have not been very good at celebrating myself. Perfectionists unite! I acknowledge the good, but strive for better. There is nothing wrong with striving for change, improvement etc. - this mindset has served me well in work settings. But the "BUT" is a "BUT", not an "AND". I tend to take away from the experience, not add the gifts of possibility. So for now, I took that part out completely and it was all about the recognition and celebration. . I looked at myself in the mirror and was happy with what I saw. Not just because my lashes look sweet thanks to @jeorgeskinstudio. But because when I looked at her, I was proud of her. Like everyone, there has been a lot in life, but 1081 days before my version of the universe's "Mack truck" came to collide into the path I was moving on and we are still working through the carnage every day. And it's taken some bold moves, a lot of tears and trust and connection with some f***ing amazing souls and spirits. As well as hours on my yoga mat and sitting with Maestra Cacao. A constant coming back to heart space. . In ceremony the other night, I was reminding the participants what a gift it is to see others and be truly seen. To do so we have to gift ourselves the surrender of such. So I encourage you to look at yourself, your beautiful soul in your beautiful body. To just see. Not look away or let the judgments take over (if they come just say hey and let them walk on by). You might be surprised what you see through the lens of the heart. . 14.01.2022 The cacao has been delivered! Congratulations @intrinsically.vegan. . Thank you to everyonewho took the timeto share their experiencewith me. It's not about feeding my ego and having wonderful things to post on my social media. I may use them as a way to convey what I have been taught and how others have experienced this sharing. It's about understanding for myself and my teachers if your experiences are in line with the intention, respect and teachings and if not arrows as to where further time may need to be spent, personal processes to work through or discernment of who is really feeling that. . Ceremony is not like ordering a coffee where you get an outcome as requested. It may be calm and unassuming, it may be euphoric, it may be frustrating, it may be overwhelming. Like yoga practice. Like life - the ultimate ceremony.

14.01.2022 Deep roots to uku pacha, strong trunk in kausay pacha, many leaves reaching to hanaq pacha. Pachamama we are ready to bloom.

13.01.2022 Putting together some Chrissy packs with this glorious heart elixir. Excited!!!

13.01.2022 Latergram. . With the guidance of Puma @pumaestro, a Maestro from the Andes, my teacher and my teacher's teacher, I took myself through a sunrise cacao ceremony on solstice. . In some indigenous cultures the solstice and equinoxes are regarded as the change in season rather than the date and therefore the new year. The deep connection with the land from eons of observation and harmony.... . Rather than setting intentions (which I will continue to do, each month with @gumbootsbythesea Moon Magic) I worked with programming the ñustasenergies. According to Puma these are "wild daughters of Pachamama, powerful feminine forces and in this case, these ñustas are cosmic ñustas, coming from the stars". The nature of the energy I want to feel and focus on for the next 6 months until the Winter solstice. Which may end up the same. . Whilst the depth of this is personal I will share for me they are: The Inner World - to keep working with the sneaky subconsious, having the courage to face the dark, choose light and share the gift. The Eternal Child - staying in the joy and magic, letting go of fear around risks. The Nectar - embracing the sweetness in life and practices. . Inspired by the @kim_krans @the_wild_unknown archetypes card pull, there is my own interpretation and application. . This programming doesn’t mean my energy and life will change in a heartbeat - although perhaps they could if we allow them too. But i keep returning over and over again to what this means and if what I'm doing in my life is in alignment. If not, what needs to change. To be released, surrendered, allowed. While staying unattached and present. . I would love to know what energies you are calling in? See more

12.01.2022 The breakdowns and subsequent breakthroughs in the sacred space of @franki_jay_’s Embodied Alchemy retreat was not only a deep honour for which I am grateful to have been a part of; it was so powerful for the participants and myself my medicine cup shattered right after ceremony.

12.01.2022 Pretty much the mood I was channeling last night in ceremony with @maurice_harveyhall @damiencornford and @sj_afee_tai. . Working with the water element Mama Cocha. . With this stunning azurite in my medicine pouch gifted from @maurice_harveyhall.... . by @josephinecarterphotography in the glorious rain we've been experiencing. See more

10.01.2022 Photo is a screenshot from a video so not the best quality. Taken in February before covid craziness. . So excited to be learning from Nicky again in 2021. Maria from @arcyoga and I have been accepted and are heading to Cairns for our intermediate @knoff_yoga teacher training in August next year . . You can never truly prepare for the experience of these intensives (200hrs, almost 4 weeks with 3 days off), but we will be working towards building that mountain to get the most... out of the time we have in the yoga bubble. . For me this is the best way to learn by completely immersing myself and giving all of my attention and intention, letting go of outside distractions. We learn this in teacher training and emulate it in class. See more

10.01.2022 There are days in your life that you will remember forever. Even if on the surface they appear to be mundane, there is deep magic. . Last Monday was one of those. . We drove home early, exhausted but high from the @franki_jay_ retreat to sign documents for our next project. Watch this space! If you have known either of us for a while you will know this is our dreams and goals becoming reality.... . Spent the day napping, unpacking and cleaning in between social media updates from all the participants. . I taught Knoff Yoga that night and one of the students explained to me that even though they found the practice challenging as there is so much to think about (I don't help that being meticulous and so many cues ), they have started to really understand the concepts and their body awareness. Practice is getting easier and they leave feeling balanced, centred, strong and starting to love it. These are fundamentals of @knoff_yoga so understanding I am conveying it true to what I have been taught and experience was such a deep confirmation for me. I had further discussion later in the week with the same student and their articulation of understanding really was joyful for me to witness. . I got home to messages, posts and threads from the retreat. The wonderfully talented @natericol sent me this pic. The curiosity of the cacao ceremony I facilitated was the kicker for her to arrive in this space and have a profound experience and make a huge contribution to others having a profound experience. She took this after the ceremony at our wonderful location. The image on the screen was replaced with a shot from the colourful flames we created in the fire and you can see two bright "stars" (they are actually planets as far as I am aware) which was symbolic of the journey I took them on that came to me weeks ago and without knowing what the night sky would look like. . I burst into tears showing my husband not being able to convey adequately or eloquently with words the depth of confirmation I felt for this path . . Pic credit - Natalie Diehm Saroglia See more

06.01.2022 I laid down on pachamama heart to heart as the warm rays of taita inti kissed my skin and wayra danced through my hair. I was cleansed by mama cocha . We lit nina and sat under mama quilla . . We are not separate - non duality. Union. Yoga. . Munay. Ayni. Chakana. Connection. Ceremony. Medicine. Sacred Chocolate. Lineage of the Light. Lineage of the 7 Rays.
