24.01.2022 After rain for our last two Saturday paddling sessions it's looking like a beautiful spring morning for it tomorrow!

24.01.2022 I got Dragon Boating! How about you?

23.01.2022 This week we celebrate International Men's Health Week. Why is Australian male health so in need of attention? Why work on men's health? Good question! Because ...the health status of males in most countries, including Australia, is generally poorer than that of females. In Australia, Men's Health Week provides a platform for challenging and debating key issues in men's health and to raise the profile of men, their health outcomes and health needs around the country each June. The event celebrates the strengths of men, the contributions they make and the important role they play in society. It is as much as week of celebration and engagement of men with a serving of health on the side! (Source: https://www.menshealthweek.org.au/) Look after yourselves guys! Coz we need you in our Victorian team!

23.01.2022 For the last four months we have been a club cut in half. Luckily with Border Zone Passes our members have been able to get to training but today we are one community again! No more time spent waiting in queues, no more remembering a pass, a licence and a mask, no more stares from other motorists as we all turn off to head to the lake! https://fb.watch/1W-ZmiqsRB/

23.01.2022 Is finding a new sport and getting fit on your to do list for the New Year? Why wait! Join us for training sessions up to three days a week and enjoy the benefits of the best workout you can get sitting down! Register for your free, four week pass here: www.warriordragons.com.au/registration

22.01.2022 Loving this perspective on paddlers in a boat! Everyone in time, paddles deep. Are you looking for a unique summer sport to start this year? ... We might just have sport, the community, the fun group of people you are looking for. . . . . No, the water is not that clear on Gateway Lakes but you get the picture.

21.01.2022 And that's a wrap! Warriors held their traditional Christmas Brekky complete with yummy brekky burritos cooked by Linda, the Coach and Kayrne. Everyone enjoyed... a Kris Kringle with a few gifts stolen more than once (who did end up with that mug??). We are so glad we've had the chance to come together as a team despite everything that's happened in 2020 (we are currently experiencing Border Closure 2.0). We've welcomed lots of new members who are really enjoying the challenge of a new sport and we are now looking forward to our first regatta at Falls Creek in January. Merry Christmas everyone!

19.01.2022 Happy International Men’s Day! Our Warrior men are some of the strongest, fittest, funniest, most knowledgeable, adaptable, tolerant people you could ever meet! We are so pleased that they choose to paddle with us!

19.01.2022 Looking for inspiration......should we paint this on the side of our shed? Yes or no??

17.01.2022 Three weeks into our campaign to get to Perth for Auschamps 2021 and we are nearly there! Watch us go when we can finally get back in the boat again!

15.01.2022 Happy Father's Day!

13.01.2022 Say hello to Sandra! A tenacious Tassie paddler who loves how dragon boating pushes your body and mind beyond what you thought you could do. Comment below what you love about dragon boating! #AreYouReadyDB

11.01.2022 The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional holiday originating in China, occurring near the summer solstice. The festival now occurs on the 5th day of the 5th month of the traditional Chinese calendar, which is the source of the festival's alternative name, the Double Fifth Festival. The Chinese calendar is lunisolar, so the date of the festival varies from year to year on the Gregorian calendar. In 2017, it occurred on 29 May; in 2018, on 18 June; in 2019, on 7 June; and in 2020, on 25 June. #GoogleDoodle

11.01.2022 We love our volunteers! During National Volunteers Week this year we can’t thank them in person but we can still celebrate them! Our committee, who keep our club running, our volunteer team managers who help keep us in check at regattas, our members who volunteer their time to make regattas run smoothly and our members who assist at fundraising events and our annual school event. We thank you!

10.01.2022 Who’s up for the challenge???

07.01.2022 While we might be missing out on paddling, we aren’t too worried, it is winter after all! We are busy making plans to kickstart the crews as soon as we can and we can’t wait to share with you all our plans for new and experienced paddlers. In the meantime we’ve been catching up on some jobs around the shed - how good does our shed look!

07.01.2022 Give yourself 90 seconds to watch this great ad from Nike. It will give you all the feels.

06.01.2022 We are all counting down the days until we are back on the water! In the meantime, we've asked our club members to use just three words to describe the Warriors Dragon Boat Club.....

05.01.2022 We have lots of seats to fill! Ask any of our current members and they will describe the sport of dragon boating in many different ways. It’s fast, challenging and social. You’ll improve your fitness, your co ordination, your team work skills. You’ll paddle in the heat, the rain and sometimes hail. It’s the best workout you’ll get sitting down! We have a calendar of regattas starting in the New Year and we’d love to have you in our boat. Sign up for your free, four week trial to see if this sport is for you. www.warriordragons.com/registration

03.01.2022 We are all really missing our team mates at the moment. Restrictions mean we are literally divided in two. BUT we remain a tight knit team who are always on the lookout for new members. We have an accredited coaching team led by head coach Graham. Once we are allowed back on the water (and it’s a bit warmer), the coaching plan will get us fit and ready to compete. ... Are you looking for a new challenge to get stuck into? Consider Dragon Boating!

01.01.2022 No physical distancing at this regatta! How many boats do you think are in this race?
