25.01.2022 With round 1 commencing this weekend for all grades, and the urge to get down and support your club, we would like to remind the lacrosse community that round 1... is being held under current government restrictions of 75 people per field including players, coaches and officials. With this in mind Lacrosse SA is recommending that only 1 spectator per player attend games. Clubs and spectators are asked to assist managing this to ensure that numbers are kept below the 75 person limit. If you are planning to attend a match this weekend, we suggest contacting your club to assist them with managing these numbers. Some clubs may have the option of having spectators watch the game from club rooms however will need to abide by the density requirements and current guidelines. LSA TV will be broadcasting Friday nights Women’s State League double header to help the community watch the action and support your team without attending the ground. These restrictions are scheduled to be eased on Monday, 29 June 2020 with no cap on numbers as long as density requirements are met. This will mean restrictions on spectators from round 2 onwards will be relaxed considerably as long as they are observing social distancing. We understand that this is an inconvenience for the first round, however as a lacrosse community we need to ensure that we follow current guidelines to avoid potential penalties and further restrictions being placed on the sport.

25.01.2022 Did anyone find any black size 9 Under Armour shoes? They were beside Jack Inge's bag when they made an exit for the hospital yesterday during the U15 Boys game.

25.01.2022 Following the recent increases of cases in Victoria and the potential for community transmission to become a factor, we are reminding all members of the Lacross...e Community to do their part, to ensure that we do our part, to limit any potential outbreaks. Based on advice given from ORSR and SA Health we ask all Lacrosse members to remain COVID-Safe and follow the guidelines below: - Stay home and do not play, officiate, coach, spectate or attend any lacrosse activities if you are unwell for any reason. This is vitally important as we have had reports that some players have been playing while sick this year. - Keep 1.5 metre distance from others wherever and whenever possible. - Adhere to the density requirement of 1 person per 2 square meters. - Wash or sanitize hands and common surfaces regularly. Game Management - Do not share food such as oranges or lollies at half time. - Bring your own water bottles (communal refill containers should not be used). - Spectators should remain socially distant at all times and beseated where possible is preferred. Pre and Post-Game Activities Lacrosse SA is recommending that all pre and post-game interactions should be limited wherever possible, including: 1. NO hand shaking at captains call at the start of the game. 2. NO hand shaking at end of game. From midnight, Tuesday 4 August 2020. For the consumption of alcohol, people must be seated in licenced premises with or without food.

22.01.2022 Thank you to all who attended last night's Season and Sponsors Launch. It was a great way to kick off the season and see what the Club has in store over the next few weeks. A big thank you to Big Shed Brewing Concern and all their crew for hosting our event and for the amazing food. Thanks to Ben Hook for coming out and running the night with interviews of our state league coaches.... Of course I can’t thank all our sponsors enough for your support and help through what has been an eventful year already so thank you for your contribution. Lyndon Southwell Woodville Lacrosse Club Chairman
22.01.2022 Just to clarify recent LSA post, that is 75 people MAX per GAME field. 300 MAX at one OVAL. I also spoke with Giulia and she has said that we at Woodville can have more than the 1 spectator per player due to the fact that our grounds are bigger. With this said, we still need to adhere to the social distancing guidelines The club will be open Saturday and the canteen and bar will also be open to purchase food and drinks.
22.01.2022 After a long wait, the Board of Lacrosse SA is pleased to announce all Lacrosse competitions are scheduled to commence weekend commencing Friday, 26th June 2020... All senior teams will be playing the traditional 10 a-side competition for a premiership where 2 full rounds can be played. The format for junior teams still requires further discussion that will take place following junior team nomination confirmations from Clubs. The primary focus is to provide competition opportunities that promote greater participation for all. Competitions will run under the recent restriction dates (see graphic) which are subject to change and we keep you updated if and when they do.

21.01.2022 Last Saturday was a special day for the Feleppa family when club stalwart Richard Feleppa stepped up into the Men's State League team to join his son Sean who is a league rookie this year. It even got a mention in Ben Hook's column in the weekend's Sunday Mail! Can anyone guess who were the last A Grade father/son combination to suit up for the Warriors? ... 21.01.2022 To our Warrior family With more news and government calls of nationwide closures and possible lockdowns, it is with great sadness to announce that the Woodville Lacrosse Club will be shut until further notice. We must as a sporting community follow the guidelines that the government have set out and keep our members and players safe and reduce the risk and spread of COVID-19. The season as it stands is still unknown, highly unlikely to get in decent sized season, if at all. ...LSA are still yet to determine the season. Once they have, we will communicate with our members on what is happening. Or alternatively keep a look out on LSA Facebook page as well as our own. As previously stated, trainings are still cancelled until further notice as well. Take this time to look after yourselves and family. Lyndon Southwell WLC Chairman

20.01.2022 The Woodville Lacrosse Club would like to recognise Sue Sofarnos and her dedication to Women’s Lacrosse in Australia. Sue has been involved with multiple Australian Lacrosse Teams and Victorian Teams. She was a big part of our very own Charlotte Whinnen, Mel Ryan and Olivia Parker’s Australian Lacrosse journeys and touched the lives of thousands of other players around Australia. We want to send our deepest condolences to John, Hayley, Chris and Jess during this time. ... Her legacy will live on and her appreciation and passion for the sport will be forever cherished by all those that were able to cross paths with her. ----- The Sofarnos family are pleased to announce the establishment of the Sue Sofarnos Foundation in support of Australian Women’s Lacrosse. As her passion and life’s purpose was to help financially support those Australian Players who have to self-fund their training, uniforms, travel, accommodation and associated costs when representing our Country, we believe this is a fitting way to establish her legacy that she would be extremely proud of.

14.01.2022 To all members Just an update for our club rooms regarding the recent COVID restrictions. The club will still be open tomorrow night and junior presentations will still be going ahead. All members MUST be seated during this time. The doors at the back of the club (oval side) will be shut so members enter through main front door where sanitiser will be available for use. Each member MUST apply sanitiser before entering the club.... Food and beverages (including alcohol) must be consumed by patrons while seated at tables that are physically separate from any bar or are where orders are taken. SATURDAY The club will be closed Saturday night for a private function. Some quick reminders as we don’t want to get complacent! * Stay home if you are unwell. * Keep 1.5 metre distance from others wherever and whenever possible. * Adhere to the density requirement of 1 person per 2 square meters. * Wash or sanitize hands and common surfaces regularly. Thank you for your cooperation Lyndon Southwell WLC Chairman
12.01.2022 Lacrosse will be coming back soon! The Club is currently working through a checklist of requirements that need to be in place before we are in a position to resume training. We plan to make an announcement this weekend regarding when we will be able to resume our activities.... While we all want to get out there sooner rather than later, we need to make sure that we are properly prepared when we get back into it.
11.01.2022 Important update WLC Members This notice is to keep all our members updated and on the same page to what is happening with ‘rebooting’ the game of Lacrosse this year. So far, the committee has been working to get a document out to LSA that covers the necessary guidelines and restrictions handed down from the government. This document includes training schedules, information about the club, risk assessments, COVID warning and hygiene posters and specific rules on what players..., coaches and parents can and can’t do. When completed, this will then be sent to LSA for approval before we can resume training. Once we have received confirmation of approval, members will be notified and the document will be sent out via email and published to social media and TeamApp that all members must read and adhere to. Failure to do so, will result in the club being sanctioned. I know this is a frustrating time and we all want to get out and play again but there is to be no training until further notice. This hopefully will be within the next week. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this unusual time Lyndon Southwell WLC Chairman

Charles is highly regarded in the lacrosse community, with friendships forged across the globe. His passion for the Club and sport he loves is legend.... Congratulations Charles!! #warriorslax #laxsa #aussielax #woodvillelacrosse #WoodvilleLacrosseClub #woodville #warriors #lacrosse
10.01.2022 WLC MEMBERS **INFO REGARDING FEES** With the season set to start this Saturday, many members have been inquiring about fees. Unfortunately due to COVID, finances have been on hold until seasons start. As it stands we are waiting to hear back from LSA as they had a board meeting regarding the issue last night. As soon as we find out, memebers will be notified. Regarding the shorter season, many have asked if the fees will be cheaper. As a precaution don’t assume they will be.... Insurance and other payments required by LSA remain the same making it harder for fees to be cheaper. This being said, payment plans are still available. If this is needed please contact Sue Hogan and work a plan out. If you are experiencing financial hardship due to COVID, please again contact Sue or myself so that if need be, a different payment plan can be worked out. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. And get excited for the season start this Saturday! Lyndon Southwell WLC Chairman
