21.01.2022 On Wednesday July the 1st 2020 is set to be a historical date for Victoria's Fire Services. The State of Victoria will see an amalgamation of all Officers, Firefighters and employees of the Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) and all Career Officers, Firefighters and some other paid employees of the Country Fire Authority (CFA). The new organisation will be known as Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV). All current CFA Volunteers will remain with the CFA which will revert to bein...g a volunteer fire service. Currently the Warrnambool Fire Brigade is an Integrated Fire Station within the CFA, this meaning the station is staffed 24/7 with a complement of a minimum of 10 on duty career firefighters, supplemented by a group of volunteer firefighters who respond to emergencies from wherever they might be when a call is received, whether that be from home, at work or out shopping. The career firefighters respond to the majority of calls the Brigade receives in the Warrnambool area or responding to assist neighboring brigades like Allansford, Koroit, Wangoom, Woodford, Pt Fairy and beyond as required. FRV Fire Stations have ben allocated a number to identify them and from July 1 any reference to FRV from the Warrnambool site will refer to "Station 70" and operate a Pumper (Pumper 70), Aerial Pumper(AP 70) and Technical Rescue Transporter ( Transporter 70) . The CFA volunteers will continue to operate as the Warrnambool Fire Brigade and utilise the CFA appliances, Warrnambool Tanker’s 1 and 2, Hazmat, FCV and MCV. Both Career Firefighters and CFA Volunteers will continue to serve the community from the current station located on Mortlake Road. The Warrnambool Fire Brigade is proud to have a strong relationship with all our Firefighters. We all work closely and have done since the career firefighters were first posted to the Warrnambool Brigade back in 1961. Regardless whether we are paid or unpaid, volunteer or career, CFA or FRV, the service to the community is our highest priority and we will continue to provide the community with the service you have grown to know and rely on in your time of need. Whether that be a response to a house fire, bush fire, motor vehicle accident, hazardous materials incident or an Emergency Medical Response alongside Ambulance Victoria, the firefighters at the Warrnambool CFA and FRV Station 70 will be here for the community when called upon. The Warrnambool Fire Brigade looks forward to continuing our service as a volunteer organisation, while working alongside our colleagues in the newly formed Fire Rescue Victoria.

15.01.2022 Tonight was our first training session in a while due to COVID, tonight we started our pre summer training!

11.01.2022 Our trucks only carry enough water to make an initial attack, a continuous water supply must be accessed through a hydrant within minutes. If you have one of these near your home, please keep them clear of grass and vegetation and do not park or place heavy objects over them.

09.01.2022 Warrnambool Staff and Volunteers working together to fight a shed fire this afternoon!
