10.01.2022 End of Life Care Unfortunately old age and associated disability come all too soon with our pets. Whilst there are many medications and surgeries available to prolong life and ease discomfort there almost always comes a time where quality of life needs to be addressed. This is a very personal and emotional time for people who have had close companions, sometimes for many years. Quality of life is hard to measure, especially if you are emotionally involved. Interaction, mobil...ity and ability to toilet and be clean are of utmost importance. Whilst everybody has their own personal views on euthanasia, I believe the welfare of the pet is the first consideration. Prolongation of life that serves only to cause distress to the owner and pet is, to me, a detraction from the many years of happiness that have been enjoyed. I am happy to provide guidance and advice on euthanasia and can provide that service in the privacy and intimate environment of the pets own home.
